Is the man still alive? I understand he has been banned from almost every country in the western world. Any news on whether he is still a Holocaust Denier?

With Mr Death being one of my favourite films of all time, I wonder what happened to the little weasel.

Indeed, I'd go as far as declaring Mr Death to be the ultimate film about denial and delusion.

I vaguely heard he was driving a bus somewhere. He's alive, he sent a snotty email to a friend of mine in the HD-debunking community last year.

More importantly, what happened to Fred Schneider (http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1535833&vid=53957)?

Wow, he's still alive? Didn't he claim in Mr. Death that he smoked 4-5 packs of cigs per day, and drank something like 15 cups of coffee per day? I can't fathom how that's physiologically possible.

40 cups.

I asked Morris about this scene yesterday at a Q&A.

I won't be able to tell it as well as he did, but the anecdote was like this:
He told me he was interested in getting Leuchter on camera with a cigarette next to the death chair, as he was consistently chain-smoking off camera. Morris finally asked him why he was happy with drinking coffee but not smoking. Leuchter turned around very seriously and said:

"Errol, you don't understand. Children look up to me."

:eye-poppi

I don't need to tell you the audience burst out in laughter.

I checked the Social Security death index and Leuchter is not listed (note that this doesn't prove he's not dead, but his being listed would pretty much prove that he is dead).

Here's the latest I could find on him: two entries from Deborah Lipstadt's blog for January 7 (http://lipstadt.blogspot.com/2008/01/holocaust-denier-and-death-penalty-case.html) and January 8 (http://lipstadt.blogspot.com/2008/01/details-on-fred-leuchter-and-why-he.html) of this year.

The thing that always angered me most about Leuchter's behavior was his attempt to pass himself off as an engineer (thus giving his "report" an undeserved air of legitimacy), despite his only having a history degree.
