Bush’s conquest of Earth

A few yarns ago there were some lively threads about GB setting out to be a dictator, The new American Century, blah blah blah.
So what happened?
Sure looks like one of the most polar opposite politicians is about to be elected.

I put this in conspiracy because (I’ve never posted in it before) there was definite suggestion of right wing take over in those old threads

The only thing Bush wants to conquer come next year is his mountain bike and ipod. Anyone who suggests that he wishes to create circumstances that will allow him to stay president has no understanding of the man's personality.

I've never seen anyone so ready to be out of the public eye. He served his eight years, played his role, seeing how his presidency will be viewed as a total and comprehensive failure, he appears happily headed to relative obscurity.

After making some passes at last minute redemption via good causes, yeah.

People got carried away with politics, that's what happened.

I don't expect any apologies until next January, if then.

Bush seems to be making some efforts to have a less-than-horrible legacy. He's vetoed a couple of pork-laden bills to appear to be a fiscal conservative. He's pushed a couple of energy bills to appear to be an environmentalist. He's plowed money into
Africa in order to appear to be a globalist.

But historians don't rate an administration by what they did in their dying throes. Bush has a legacy, carved in stone, of being an absolutely horrible president and leader. His "foxhole conversion" won't change that.

Oh you mean what happend to the three big boys in the project New American century?

1. Paul Wolfowitz resigned from the World Bank

2. Donald Rumsfeld resigned as the secretary of defense

3. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was found guilty of perjury. Oh yeah and George W. Bush commuted Libby"s sentence.

So I guess Dick Cheney is the only big guy from that project who still has a job?

There was this whole net buzz a while back "BUSH DICTATOR", and there were some very upset peps out there.
Now a better description would be to substitute "HEAD" for "TATOR"

He's pushed a couple of energy bills to appear to be an environmentalist.
He did that around 2001 I thought.

You have to admit that is in Bush's favor in terms of preventing assassination or impeachment. Nobody wants a President Cheney.

An oddly realistic appraisal coming from a truther.

Spare me the labels.
