Wow, the 700 club is the worst most godawful piece of trash I've ever seen.
From the little I've seen, and what I'm watching now, I'm not in any way impressed. Here's a list of things I've already seen:
"Evil Atheists..."
"Homosexuals are brainwashing Americans into accepting them..."
"Suddenly those who have chosen homosexuality are suddely portrayed as the victims when they are being persecuted..."
"Imagine, one day, you, your friends, your family might suddenly get arrested for simply declaring homosexuality is a sin" (wow, talk about emotional appeal, talk about total disregard about what constitutes an illegal hate crime...)
"Do Homosexuals have the high ground.", Robertson replies with "Never."
"I dont think this [homosexuality] is a genetic matter..."
Yeah, and if that doesnt get the point across, during the rant about marriage, a very quick banner flashed across the screen that read "Marriage = One Man + One Woman". Wow, these people make no sense, so they have to resort to brain washing subliminal messages to get the point across.

They really do have an issue with homosexuality, don't they! It really seems to be bugging the hell(tm) out of them, pushing their hot-buttons, making them angry. I wonder why...
Doesn't seem to bother the rest of the population all that much. People just somehow seem to get on with their lives as best they can, regardless of theirs or other peoples' sexual inclinations. They have come to some sort of terms with sexual differences, but it sure looks like this crowd haven't, and don't even seem to want to try.
Perhaps they should read the parable of the Good Samaritan more closely, heed its lessons of gracious and supportive behaviour in the face of social differences. Who told his followers that parable? Oh yes. Jesus, their own personal saviour. :)

It's worse than that...
It's a bumper sticker.

Even though I agree that marriage is for hetrosexual people to enter into. I consider homosexual households to warrent some sort of sanctioned cohabitation, but I think it should have a different name.

This is perhaps the most misunderstood quote in the whole bible by the fundamentalists. Due to there disdain for non biblical historical sources, most don’t understand the historical relationship of the Jews and Samaritans.

From one of my favorite historical documents (Life of Brian) I can sum up the Jewish/Samaritan relationship thusly:Mr. Big Nose: I'll get you for this, you bastard.
Parvus: Oh, yeah?
Mr. Big Nose: Oh, yeah. Don't worry. I never forget a face.
Parvus: No?
Mr. Big Nose: I warned you. I'm going to punch you so hard, you Roman git!
Parvus: Shut up, you Jewish turd!
Mr. Big Nose: Who are you calling Jewish?! I'm not Jewish! I'm a Samaritan!
Gregory: A Samaritan? This is supposed to be a Jewish section.

And yet their own Bible completely fails to define marriage as one man and one woman. Of course, since when do Christians do what the Bible tells them to? Never.

It was plainly obvious to me as the usual dim-bulb when I was about 8 (and getting the usual Sunday-school indoctrination), and in later years some light research and a National Geographic article on the Samaritans helped fill in more relevant details that highlighted the intended moral of the story. But this all still seems to have passed these incredible creduloids by...!

What consistantly drives me crazy about this entire 700 Club/Fundmantalist Christian attitude is this:
Your god says not to be gay. Your god says that men have to marry women, and vice versa.
Sooooo...don't be gay. So don't marry unless it's a man and a woman. Be secure that you are "following the right path" or whatever.
BUT LEAVE ME ALONE. LET ME MARRY WHO/WHAT I WANT. LET ME SLEEP WITH WHOEVER I WANT.
I'm not even gay and this drives me crazy.

Exactly so, WK, exactly so. Which means that your bedroom is none of anyone else's goshdarn business if it's all with adult consent.
Have fun!

Websters Dictionary calls "marriage" an "intimate or close union". Good enough for me.
