As promised, the video and website can be found at
www.spoonscience.com
as well as some extra content about the science of spoon bending and some photos of the event.
Once again, a huge thanks to everyone for taking part and congratulations on holding the world record for spoon bending!
PS the site is still under development, so any bugs, drop me a PM.
Thanks!

Should we set up a t-shirt to commemorate this, similar to the one we have for the Quarks bar tab? Definitely including the URL on the back.

I'd prefer it if you didn't create any unofficial spoonscience.com merchandise, but if you really want a t-shirt I'd be happy to set up a spreadshirt store for official merchandise. It could have the logo on and everything! The site just went live and is still being worked on, so it's all very early days!
Witty caption ideas?

a Caption could be
"slap
Hold
Wiggle
Drop
(spoonscience.com)"
Less seriously
"record breaking bender" (for tobie only perhpas...)

Talking of commemorative items, I felt really bad that some people put their spoons in the bags at the back and left them neatly on the pile. They were meant for you guys to take the spoon parts home as a memento! I was worried about the sharp edges so supplied the bags.
Still, probably the same handful of folks who read out the 'slap' cue :D

Good question - I'm not sure we're going to make a hi-res version available at this stage but I'll let you know if/when one becomes available.

so we should all help teeks video get OUT THERE.
If you have a facebook account or other web site put it up! Even a family type site, sort of a "hey I was part of this!"
I was sending it via email to my skeptic friends that didn'tmake TAM to be sure they saw it. And then I thought, "well, I'll send it to a few of my non skeptic friends and see what they think". They LOVED IT! In fact for ONCE they were "wow, that TAM you go to looks like a LOT of fun!" You try to explain it's FUN, but that video makes it look like we are having a LOT of fun (which we WERE).
so, just to prove it's not a lot of atheists eating babies....
try sending that youtube to a few of your less skeptical family members and friends.
Let's help Teek and RIchard get the word out !!

Cool site, I caught a little of it on the new Bad Astronomy web site.

or maybe replace "2008" with "7.21.08" (If we had done this in Twickenham, the date would be expressed as 21.07.08, but we did it in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, so 7.21.08 is more appropriate.)

Just because you write 10x more posts, each one 10x better than mine, and get 1E+6 the volume of traffic, and have a fancy deal with Discover.... Hey, my mom reads my blog. I mean, when she can find the time; she certainly doesn't read *every* post. That'd be crazy!

Oops; I got ahead of myself there! I meant 6.21.08. I thought about 21 June 2008, but decided the pure numeric would be a better recommendation in terms of brevity and symmetry.
TAM6 - Las Vegas - 6.21.08

I'm thinking we could do a "300"-like theme on the T-shirt...
Front: Picture of Wiseman (half-naked and ripped) shreiking "Skeptics! What is your profession?!"
Back: "Spoonbending!" superimposed over dripping red "816" with spoonscience.com underneath
Really, I thought it was good :D

I loved 300. I've read "Gates of Fire" and it's interesting that the basic premise (and a few lines of dialogue) come from historical accounts. The rest is historical fantasy of course. Ballet of death indeed.
Whatever the t-shirt design I am getting one.

Pshaw. I know where I was sitting but the main camera was on the other side of the room. Can't see me at all. I winked at the camera that was positioned at my row, but it didn't make the final cut. I guess it wasn't a cute enough wink. :(
