Just how much truth is in these reports, I wonder?

I have not read the reports, but there was a discussion on BBC Radio FiveLive last night with the uncle of a girl in the same class in the studio and a Moslem spokesman (who hardly listened to any reply) and people phoning in. I am not sure of the exact time, but it was around 11:0 p.m.
From what I heard, it seems the teacher was very much out of line.

We only have the childrens' and their parents' version of what happened. It sounds to me like the teacher was trying to get the kids to join in role-play, two kids got boshie and the teacher applied appropriate sanctions.
The teacher is subject head in that school, so she's not some student teacher who got it wrong.

That's still wildly inappropriate. It would be as disrepectful as asking muslim children to "role-play" a baptism.

And from the accounts I'd say you are right sophia8, it doesn't seem that anyone was told to pray to anyone never mind forced to.

Still house prices are down....
