(Searched here for strempel and found nothing)
This week our local little newsletter published a piece on fuel pricing based on a mass-mailing by a Graham Strempel. I wonder if anyone here has received this email which, like all good conspiracy mails, asks the reader to forward it to everyone they know?
I've written a bit (well, a lot) about it here (http://thinkingrreal.blogspot.com/2008/07/send-this-to-everyone-you-know.html)
To summarise: Strempel claims that governments and fuel companies are conspiring to keep fuel prices high and that the media has an agenda (but doesn't state how this affects their stance on the issue). He targets parity pricing and barrel pricing and claims fuel excise is levied as a percentage of the pump price with GST added on top. It is the errant tax claims I mainly focus on.
I'd be glad for someone to cast an eye over what I've written and correct it where necessary.
