THis fellow has been spamming Scottish broadsheet The Scotsman's online comments section with his ISP conspiracy, which led me to his predictably paranoid website. Enjoy.

I've heard about this one before. If true, it ain't good, and even paranoids have enemies.
Of course, I'm not sure if it's true.

If what he’s saying is true, then where’s the actual news about it? Where could he have possibly gotten the information?
Gee, it couldn’t be that he’s lying through his teeth in a cheap, pathetic, tinfoil hatter attempt at getting attention, could it?

Is he saying that sites like Myspace and Youtube, which have gained sufficient users, may require said users to pay to continue using the site, and that this might be extended across the internet? If so, that doesn't seem too much of an imaginary leap!

What...myspace becoming a pay site? Want to buy a bridge in Brooklyn and some swamp land in Florida?

Going by said post on said blog it appears he first came by the idea on the quasi-Nazi American Free Press website. The rest merely appears to be the author’s own idle speculation. What an oddball.

I can't see a purpose for either, so I'll pass, thanks. What about youtube then? Could they justify charging a fee?

Oh man though, this has picked up all over the place; with everyone freaking out that the interwebs will become like cable TV. The problem is that no one ever links to anything approaching a primary source. This all appears to be part of the long running hysteria about net neutrality. I mean do a search on "Secret Plan To Kill Internet By 2012 Leaked?", and you'll find an annoying list of sites, with only a few containing replies that are skeptical.
I have tried to find anything on this, but it all appears to circulate around a rumor, a youtube vid by some woman; and Prisonplanet.

Aye, if someone said to me that there was a plan to make us pay more for our internet access then fair enought, we could get into a discussion about the competitive marketplace and the likelihood (or otherwise) of it happening commercially. What struck me as ... odd ... was this suggestion of some over-arching conspiracy that went beyond even a simple cartel scenario.

Mhmm, reading at "http://savetheinternet.com/" right now, the FCC just ruled against "Comcast's Paranoid Conspiracy" to interfere with User's download habits:
*snip* Today’s FCC move is precedent-setting. It sends a powerful message to phone and cable companies that blocking access to the Internet will not be tolerated. It also gives the FCC (one still controlled by industry-friendly Republicans) the teeth to stop powerful companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast from getting between you and what you want to do online. *snip*
