Greetings.

I've done a fair amount of searching, but can't find data on this. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

I need attitudes about gay marriage in each of the 50 states. Ideally, the % for and against would be outstanding. I know which states ban and do not ban, but I need attitudinal data for state citizens.

I've scoured the Pew foundation web site, and they have lots of data but no break down on attitudes by state.

Surveying about 50K people would be kinda expensive I doubt it has been done.

The only hard stat I can offer from Hawai'i is the result from the 1998 state-wide referendum. 69% were against gay marriage. There was/is a bunch of debate as to the tactics displayed by both sides of the issue leading up to the vote, but the numbers were pretty clear, as only 2% of voters left the question on the ballot blank.

I haven't heard of any data more recently, although the state legislature is currently working on a civil-union proposal.

BooThey didn't list my state of Texas. But I bet it's 99% against homo marriage.

It's not a scientific study, but a Reuters poll shows Californians oppose a bill to ban gay marriage 51 to 42 percent.
