I am not anti-Google. I think it has a lot going for it. There are alternatives though and I thought I would check a few out. The two I currently use the most are Clusty and Cuil.

Anyone got any other suggestions? Well known or obscure.

Thanks

I'm not totally sold on Cuil, just yet. It seems to be getting a little better, but I tried it last week by typing in the word, "harvested," and all I got was "no results for 'harvested'". WTF? This time I get some hits about composting and farming, when what I was really looking for was the people who remaster Pink Floyd concert recordings. It's the second hit from the top on Google. It doesn't seem that Cuil has really indexed all 121,617,892,992 pages yet as it claims to have. Sleek UI, though. I wonder how long it will stay that way.

live.com has made solid strides in search. For those that search and shop, there's also the new cashback program as well.

Pretty nifty.

And yes, I'm a very proud Microsoft employee :)

I have to recommend Clusty because I work for Vivisimo. :)

www.dogpile.com

found nothing faster, a lot slower, gives more sites that are actually about what I am looking for - way better for kids researching in school.
