View Full Version : The Canonical Unofficial TAMII Forum Events List

The Bad Astronomer

I am trying to book my flight, and have wearily wandered through a score of threads, trying to figure what is happening when.

Can some kind soul^h^h^h^h person please gather some incentive and collate all the unofficial (oh, what the heck, official things too) things that are happening at TAMII and post them in chronological order? Then, as things gets added, we can use the quote function to keep them in order.

I think this will help people immensely.

By the way, I find it amusing that the post above, in which I made a joke about souls, was post #333 for me. Halfway there!

Phil,

I was kinda hoping to get you drunk in the bar and get you to tell me all about how yolks stay centered in the egg...(cuz your book is wrong about that! :) )

How's that for an "unofficial event"?

OK, we could just get drunk in the bar, no eggs...that sounds fine, too..... ;)

333? You are only a half-bred child of Satan.... Damien...DAAAAAMIEN....!!! (Where is that kid when you need him??)

Yeah, sure...

Wednesday night: G6 flies in
Thursday night: G6 figures out what to do for dinner
Friday night: G6 goes out to see P&T and may host a party in her room
Saturday night: G6's unofficial forum party night (details to follow)
Sunday afternoon: G6 goes to the Red Rock tour (TAM2 Sunday Field Trip)
Sunday night: G6 flies back home

Okay... I think that about covers it! :D

You dope! Why didn't you ask me when we were on the phone? Or did you? All I remember is you owe me a milkshake.

The schedule isn't completely set yet. Linda will probably post something about it within the next week.

Well, if no one else is going to help out B.A., I'll start by listing the events that I know about:

* Thursday 1-5pm workshop. ($150)
* Friday 6-8pm Dinner With Randi. ($250)
* Friday 9-?pm Penn & Teller show ($60)
* Saturday - ?pm-?am JREF Forum Party Night ($75 payable in advance to EM Enterprises of Lake Forest, CA)
* Sunday Red Rock Field Trip (afternoon following end of meeting) ($5/car)

I'm planning to drive in on Wed afternoon and will volunteer my body for any set up work, and leaving on the following Tue morning, leaving extra time for seeing shows, etc on Mon/Tue.

Oh, and Happy Birthday, Marc!

Hold onto it, it could be worth money one day. Especially at the rate I'm rocketing on by.

Did you have cake? Would you like some?

We will get a schedule up soon....I'm just afraid as soon as we do, it will change. One thing that won't change is that Girl 6 isn't going to have to wonder about dinner on Thursday. We have a reception starting at 5 PM to kick open the conference (unless you're signed up for the workshop that runs 1-5 on Thursday afternoon). While it's a cash bar, we will have enough food that you won't have to worry about dinner. At 7 PM, Randi gives a speech, then you'll be entertained by Jamy Ian Swiss and Ian Rowland. We should wrap up around 9:30-10:00 PM. Then on Thursday night at 11 PM, we have kind of an optional extra...Rick Maue will be putting on a special show (think seance). Details to follow soon. The conference events end at about 5:30 both Friday and Saturday afternoons, to give you all time to see Penn & Teller's show at the Rio on Friday and to party on Saturday night. We hope to have everything wrapped up by 1:00 PM on Sunday. If you want to sign up for the Red Rock tour, get with Kelli asap. Space is limited. Space is also limited for the Thursday workshop and Friday dinner, so if you're planning on either of those things, and you haven't registered yet, let me know!

Just to be clear, I meant that we didn't have a list of what Forum people are doing, unofficially, outside the conference events. I know there is no official schedule yet! Linda and Kelli are too busy talking to jabbering idiots on the phone to get any real work done.

<homer>
MMMMMmmmmm, talking to Kelli on the phone. Heh heh heh.
</homer>

Oh, and Kelli, when I said the milkshake will be on me, I meant that literally.

She sucked you in too huh?

I spent 3 minutes Registering with Linda.

I spent at least a half yammering mit Moe. If Linda hadn't made us hang up, I'd have to cancel my registration so I could pay my phone bill.

I'm flying in Wednesday and going to see Lance Burton that night. After that, it's Penn & Teller on Friday, then I'll probably crash G6's parties Friday and Saturday. I don't think I'll go on the field trip Sunday, but I'm not flying back until Monday so I'll be up for 'hanging with the skeptics'.

Seriously though, BA, it was my pleasure to drive you, G6 and Electric Monk to the planetarium, and the grocery store afterward.

"Canonical" event?

Is someone going to get fired from a cannon?

Or is this where we all line up for a group picture with a Canon camera?

Or is this the Bible Study ("B.S.") event?

Your reputation is safe with me. Most likely, it will be reinforced.

As for cost, I have plenty of minutes left on my cell phone. As for cost later, I can afford the odd milkshake or three, though I may charge them to Randi or Penn if I can figure out how.

- Well, apart from the Friday night P&T show and the Saturday night festivities, my schedule is open. However, I do plan on spending some time getting more autographs this time!

- I got Randi and yours (Phil) last time, even Hal's... but I really must do a better job this time 'round.

After that, it's Penn & Teller on Friday, then I'll probably crash G6's parties Friday and Saturday.

- SS, first time I read that, I thought you said you were going to crash G6's panties on Friday and Saturday.

SPEAKER UPDATE

Linda posted in another thread that she would be attending, but it's now official:
Julia Sweeney will be attending TAM2 and will be a speaker! This all around great gal will be a delight to see, and you won't want to miss what she has to say!

Get in your registrations for TAM2 now!

- Well if you can't catch Phil, I hear you can get the same effect by going to a Moby show.

:D

- Actually, I better not rag too much on Phil. He makes a mean slideshow on a moment's notice... you guys remember the one he did with the shadows proving that the AM1 never happened?

- Brilliance.

Oh no, it's far more prurient than that. But since MoeFaux is out of commission for a few days, I won't speak for her. But I will say that Girl6 will have to try extra hard to keep my attention in Vegas. It appears I have a stalker waiting list now.

Oh, I'm so not up for a catfight. I fight over no man. I am, however, prepared for a flirt competition. So look out for that, G6. ;)

Hey MOE! We're going to see Lon and his band play at 1:30 in the morning Sunday (or late late Saturday)! Local boy form NH makes good in Vegas, and Moe knows him.

Good chance to get to hang out with Moe and Pool Boy.
