Psychic Comes To Orlando To Look For Caylee
St. John Says She Can Pick Up On Person's 'Signature'

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Psychics are commonly used to help in missing persons cases, and even though investigators and the Anthony family have not officially asked for one in this case, a nationally known psychic is in town to help.

Gale St. John is a well-known psychic detective appearing on many shows including on "Larry King Live," "Court TV" and "Discovery."

A total four team members and two cadaver dogs known as the Body Hunter Team are in town searching for Caylee Anthony.

< snip >

The psychic detective picks up what she calls a person's signature.

"It's the signature that you would leave when you walk into a room and leave. If I put a blindfold on and each one of you walk in the room after I've been near you, I can tell who you are. You leave that vibration, that signature. Some of the things we do is going on a blind drive where you dont' look at streets, you go completely on signature. Tracking and following just like a dog would track, only instead of smelling it, we feel it," St. John said.

The group, known as "Body Hunters" and lead by psychic detective Gale St. John, is "blind driving" around Central Florida in search for the toddler who was last seen June 16, Local6.com reported.

"We will not even look at street names," psychic detective Gale St. John told the TV station and its Web site on Monday. "We drive and go completely on feeling instinct, chasing down what we call a person signature."

So they're just going to drive around randomly and hope they sense Caylee's "signature".
I see.

I suppose I should be used to it by now, but...the stupid! It burns!

I especially enjoyed that "Psychics are commonly used to help in missing persons cases". Yup.

I would also really like to know if their "cadaver dogs" are really trained S & R cadaver dogs, or if they're just as qualified as cadaver dogs as Ms. St. John is to find people's psychic signatures.

Also interested to see that she's taking donations for the search on her website.

Completely stupid search notes here, too.

Reminds me of remote viewing logs.

Thos links are blocked for me from here ("Content classification: Cult/Occult") but it sounds like Ms St. John's description of how she reads signatures is quite testable and verifiable. Cinch for the $1m if she hurries.

A nine year old boy is missing without trace here. No signs of a psychic yet, but it's only a matter of time.......

I think that what they must have meant was: "Psychics commonly turn up when they hear about a missing person case to get at as much money and/or fame as possible."

Maybe someone could direct the family to Kelly's Project Jason (http://www.projectjason.org/interviews.html#psychics)site.

There is not one proven case in which a psychic, using special powers or abilities not given to the typical person, has located a missing person, whether dead or alive. It may be possible that some persons have an ability that defies science and logic, but there is no known scientific evidence of this. These persons re-victimize families by taking away hope where it should stand, and giving hope where there is none. No person has the right to do this to another.

No psychic has stepped in to solve the shooting death of a 16 year old kid on my block a few weeks ago either. Guess they're too busy with other things.

I'm quite certain the person who knows where she (or, and I'm no psychic and hope I'm wrong, her body) is is in jail refusing to see members of her family right now.

Thanks, Grayman.

I don't think this family is going to come my way. They've latched onto a pro-psychic org, and besides, they're not happy with me for stating that it is a dangerous practice for a family of a missing person to make their phone numbers public. The org they latched onto seems to be fine with that as well.

Any trained, reputable org doesn't publish family members' phone numbers.

Long story behind that org, too. I banned them from our forum if that tells you anything.

I hope they find the child's body soon, along with the evidence.

Fame more than money. Helping police, getting on Montel, or, god forbid, Larry King, etc., allows you to start charging $500 per half hour for custom phone readings, or be a guaranteed solid seller for a book. And that's where the money comes from.

Regarding the link in rwguinn's post, I spoke with the Orlando Police Department Public Information Office. They say they have not and do not employ or work with "psychics."

According to http://www.local6.com/news/17154890/detail.html:

John, who is part of a group that calls themselves the "Body Hunters," has been on "Larry King Live," Court TV and the Discovery Channel after helping authorities recover missing children and finding at least one body.

As long as there are desperate parents hoping against hope that their children will be found alive, these scum-bags will be able to flourish. They prey on people in their lowest moments, when they can't get information they desperately want, because no information exists. I do not blame them for not wanting to deal with the reality of a missing loved one. The A-holes who prey on them should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law (if there was actually a law that prohibited this sort of thing.)

Interfering with an investigation.

Well, to be perfectly fair, as long as all they're doing is just driving around randomly on public streets, they're not interfering with the investigation.

Have you seen what kind of BS description the so-called “Body Hunters” have given based on their “visions?” Not a direct quote but it was like:

“We have seen a grassy field with flowers and some trees in the background.”

How lame is that. That answers nothing but they still get their nightly plug on Nancy Grace because they can describe a field near some woods. They can even say for sure where it is. Then if the poor little girls body turns up anywhere there is grass, flowers and trees (just about anywhere) they will take full credit for assisting in solving the crime. The Body Hunters make the ghost hunters look like geniuses. Ouch it hurt to say that last line.

TiaH,

as a parent, i agree, i would probably want to check out of reality if one of my children were missing. i might give in to woo for a moment.
but, after the denial phase anger would take over, and what better way than to out some psychics?

what if the USA had a law like they have in the UK now? (it started in April of this year?) i don't have enough posts to link anything. :boxedin:

i think the gist of the law is that the psychics have to disclaim themselves with the saying "for entertainment purposes only". i would think this would tend to take some of the wind out of their sails!
"hello, i will find your child with my super powers, it will only cost you time and money, and remember it's for entertainment purposes only."
:jaw-dropp

does anyone in the UK have an opinion, also do these vultures appear on crime scenes like they do here?

These psychics are nothing but limelight seekers. If they were so caring and compassionate they wouldn't be competing for cases with the most notoriety. Every child is as important as the next. But of course they go where the money and fame lies as much as possible. Truly sickening.

Suggested law:

"Anyone selling their services as a psychic must demonstrate the capacity to reconnect their head and body after the two have been separated by a goverment representative. A failed attempt will result in a monetary fine equal to the amount of cash in their pockets."

The "article" reads like a press release, which apparently hasn't been updated (since Court TV is now TruTV). I smell a lazy reporter.

These repellent bottom-feeders come sniffing around at the prospect of free publicity and self-promotion. You US readers may be aware of the Madeleine McCann case over here in the UK/Portugal. Well, some psychics invited themselves over to Portugal to "help" with the case, making sure that their generous gesture got plenty of publicity. Guess what! They didn't solve anything! And that was over a year ago. In the case of Caylee, I predict that the psychics will make a lot of vague and ill-defined guesses. Whatever the outcome of the case, they will then use hindsight to claim success, unless said outcome is at an embarassingly distant future date.

Can we be sure that the people she's been trying this out with don't just have really awful personal hygene?

Joking aside, though, this kind of stuff is really disgusting. It's even worse when they try to make themselves out to be such compassionate people for all the help they're offering to give these families.

I'm also a little creeped out out by the fact that they call themselves the "body hunters". It sounds a bit grim to me at least.
