So, the federal government, which has been covering up UFOs for over 50 years, is going to crumble by virtue of a court order and release information? Wow, why didn't someone think of that sooner?

I'm sure Sci Fi doesn't care if it wins or loses the suit. Either way it wins tons of free publicity for its lineup of UFO shows.

I'm sure it won't be long before they sue NASA for faking the Moon landing.

Well, they could threaten to rebroadcast State of the Union addresses on Mystery Science Theater 3000!

Well, UFOs or not, I think you are all missing a larger issue that is brought up by this. What can be so sensitive that it needs to be classified for 50 years? I can't think of a legitimate reason for these classified documents not to be released....Bottom line, is NASA is denying the Sci-Fi information that it should legally have access to.
So I think the Sci-Fi channel is doing a good thing here...
I really don't know how much good it will do in their tin-foil crusade however. I am interested in what those documents say tho...

It is a fair question to ask, but it isn't just NASA...Senator Moynihan (before he died) once noted that there are still secrets classified from World War I...that doesn't suggest to me that they were hiding proof of alien visitation, merely beauracrats gone wild.
