A couple of years ago on another forum many of the NWO zombies were claiming a specific date that NWO would take over, and that's why all the prison camps were set up. But when that date came and went, they claimed that it was postponed. Apparently I was an idiot for not knowing that when I inquired why NWO hadn't taken over as promised.

You know I woulda thought that if I believed in such a thing and it didn't happen, then I would be pretty convinced it simply wasn't true. But not with these people. When a fantasy is shown to be wrong, they just make up a new one.

I remember being little and believing in all the Nostradmas (whatever spelling) stuff. I was pretty convinced. Until of course 1998 came. The year when WWIII was supposed to start and a mad man form the middle east was supposed to launch nuclear missiles at NY form the moon. As if the prediction alone wasn't enough to not buy into it, at least it not happening was a wake up. I think at the time being so young I just had a notion of "why would someone lie about something like that, it doesn't make sense".

But I think the beauty of the NWO myth is that it's never ending. It will never happen so the fantasy can be perpetuated forever.

I think most are just attention-seeking. But as for the ones that actually believe statements like that, my personal theory is that within CT circles, there exists a kind of one-upmanship over what you can bring yourself to believe. So for instance, if you can convince yourself that (say) modern society and Nazi Germany are in fact one and the same, then from your perspective, it makes you a better conspiracy theorist than one who isn't able to buy it. Shouting it loud is just your way of showing the world how enlightened you are.

It may be bunk, but it's the only explanation for the 9/11 no-planers I can come up with.

As one who's been there, it's a process. You start out earnestly enough, considering the possibility "something isn't right." Thing is, since there's nothing to support your suspicion, you get a little creative with ways to make your pieces fit the puzzle.

You do that long enough, you start coming up with some pretty outlandish ideas... and because you've already convinced yourself your version of the truth is every bit as likely as any other, these wild fantasies don't seem any more stupid than the "lies" "they" are inflicting on the masses.
