Pamela Anderson has been mentioned here before for here penchant for homeopathy.

But, according to a CNN.com article,

I think I've got a good 10 years left in me, which is sad, too. Maybe 15, if I'm lucky...

On further reading, I learned:

...Anderson isn't taking interferon, the injectable drug hepatitis patients often use. Her homeopathic doctor, Wendy Hewland, tells the magazine she "made a single remedy specifically for Pam" that Anderson is using as an alternative form of medicine.

Sigh...

I saw that a minute ago too, and did a double-take. Is it just me, or is she admitting that homeopathy doesn't work at the same time she's rejecting the treatment that could greatly extend her life??

She claims her liver "...just keeps getting better."

Um. But your still gonna die because of liver failure/cancer?

It's kinda sad.

First, I REALLY hope she'll come to her senses before she kills herself with this stupidity.

If she doesn't, however, at least that would be a statement to homeopathy's worthlessness that many people will care about.

Wonder what a "homeopathic doctor" has to do before being prosecuted for practicing medicine without a license.

Here's an interesting statement by the homeonut organization:

The CHC expects that all practitioners it certifies who do not happen to be licensed to practice homeopathy will ensure that their clients have been made aware of the status of homeopathic practice in that state or province. Where appropriate, this might include informing the client that any homeopathic recommendations the practitioner may offer are not intended as the practice of medicine, and that the client may need to also consult a licensed health care professional.

Homeopathic recommendations are not intended as the practice of medicine. What are they intended as?

They weasel out by saying their treatments are safe. Yeah they're safe in one respect in that there is virtually no active ingredient. On the other hand they are completely dangerous if the patient neglects real treatment because of reliance on them, like poor sad Pam. Brainless and no regard for her kids.

She is stupid, and therefore will kill herself with it. If she weren't stupid she'd not be killing herself with it.

It's just inevitable that stupidity results in death. I hope she gets a Darwin Award.

Woo woo lovers will just say she lived longer on homeopathy than she would have getting 'mainstream treatment'. Homeopathy prolonger her life 'naturally' by 'strengthening her immune system' and freeing her body of 'toxins'.

Too bad there isn't any homeopathic treatment for stupidity, but then that would make the folks taking it think that they are smart, cause the treatment wouldn't work anyway, and they'd just be on it forever to maintain their 'intelligence'.

I hope she gets a Darwin Award.

Too late. She has reproduced and chose a winning mate to share her genes with.
