I can't see any threads regarding this. Anyone any opinions? There must be a few on the boards.

Microsoft showing a cynical world how cool Vista(BETA) really is.

From a glance it appears the marketing people can demonstrate that "Vista is a good idea"

...hmmmm ...don't hold the front page :D

If you control the interaction - that is, hide the parts of Vista that are a problem, such as UAC and have it on a high performance machine - of course you can get a much better response.

That's the whole point to demos: you show what looks cool and impressive, and avoid the grungy bits.

I'm sure the response would have been quite different if the subjects were allowed to use it for regular work for a week or so.

I dont have Vista but several friends have bought computers that had it already installed. They all like it but none of them are real "power" users.

If Micor$oft diverted 42% of their Hype budget into Research and Development, they might - one day - figure out how fundamentally flawed their approach is and still make just as much (if not more) profit

Heh, this is the ad I saw on digg.

For some reason I don't think the person who designed it will last long...

Nope. It's meant to counter the FUD campain the anti-microsoft people have been running. To that extent it is probably effective to a degree.

I know that's what they are trying to do...

But look at it, the main color is black and it features an old guy making a face, which could be interpreted in a not good way.
