They recently released the tv series cosmos on dvd. Has anyone seen the new releases? Is the material out of date, or still relevant?

I own the DVD set. There are updates to the material, in the form of optional subtitles and an update section that appears at the end of many of the shows. In my judgment, most of the material in "Cosmos" is still relevant. My principal complaint with the DVD set is that the quality of some scenes is very grainy.

A few years ago they ran the cosmos series on TV. Carl Sagan just did an update at the end of the show. I think that was around 1992. I don't know if they did anything else to the show since he died. Even if they didn't the shows are still fantastic.
On a side note, I bought the new music of cosmos cd's awhile ago. Two cd's and they were a disappointment. The first original music cd is great and is still one of my favourite cd's.

I just bought them on ebay cause I couldnt find them in any of the best buy type stores. I paid someting around $75. Hopefully this is not more expensive than otherwise. I wasnt patient enought to check online other than ebay. I actually have never seen the series, but do have the book cosmos.

I've seen it at CostCo for $70, other than that I haven't seen it cheaper.
I think the whole cold-war fear-of-nuclear-war stuff doesn't survive now; OTOH, it's good to be reminded of how afraid people were during that time.
