Is it wrong of me ... Should I be punished ... Even for wondering whether an OB/GYN specialist went with the lawyers?
After all, isn't there at least one more daughter?

Mitchell uses the old favorite of the newsy:
"There are reports..."
Whose reports? Mitchell doesn't elaborate. They just "are".
Marshall uses his own weasel words:
"But it seems...."

My guess would be that it has something to do with the fact that Palin got herself a lawyer for this trooper firing issue. They've probably sent some lawyers out there to take care of it and quiet it quickly.
Anyway, here's hoping this Palin thread goes better for you than the other ones, Ben.

I wonder whether Sen Larry Craig (R-Idaho) is flying to Alaska with them. After all, wasn't Gov Palin a graduate of Univ of Idaho?
Look, all I'm saying is, step lightly in the men's room in Juneau Intergalactic Aerodrome when Larry is about.

ETA: One begins to wonder -- did everybody else say no in one form or other, i.e., make demands on the office that McCain had no intention of allowing?

Andrea Mitchell (via TPM) was the original source for the story. So "also reporting" is the same reporter who said "there are reports".
On the second point, do you really think that Mitt was making demands? He was drooling over the job, because he knows whoever gets it has the inside track for the nomination next time it comes open.

Doubtful. Playing to disaffected Hillary supporters. Trying to reduce the impact of Obama being something of a historic candidate. Playing the I'm still something of a maveric card.
