Just the kind of thing a presidential nominee loves to deal with at this point in time...........

How the Detroit mayor's fall hurts Obama (http://www.newsweek.com/id/157274)

If a mayor falls in the woods, and nobody notices, is there a sound?

My take? The article makes clear that Obama's praise of Kilpatrick was in the Spring of 2007; the charges apparently came later. I don't see how you can blame Obama for not knowing about them or for giving the pro forma praise that all candidates lavish on members of their own party who have endorsed their candidacy.

OTOH, politically the ads could be a problem as the article notes.

Of course. If the perfect candidate comes out of the Rep party and he/she has ever said good words about Bush (W) on tape there will be a flood of ads with those statements.

Agreed but the problem will only be regional, at best. OTOH, since Michigan is an important state, it might play some role.

This is BS. There is nothing to tie Obama to Kwame's zipper control problem. There was no way for Obama to even know that there was anything hinky about him.

Only a low-life would make this a campaign issue, especially after the way that McCain treats the women in his life.

I will agree with everyone, that this kind of guilt by association is not an effective rebuttal of BO.

Part of my initial point was the fact that it must get tiring for these candidates to have to hear about crap like this.

BO probably didn't think about it for a second, but I would imagine some staffer briefed him about it, in case questions are asked.

Sheesh, those guys must get tired during October and November, running a marathon like these elections with the scrutiny they are under every minute.
