Is Wim Hof for real of this some kind of April Fool's joke? I have a real hard time believing he can hike Everest in his underwear.

Any critical thinker's taken this to task?

The forum won't let me post the link, but you can it by typing in Wim Hof and Ice man and you'll get ABC news for one.

I don't see a claim for the MDC made. Nor would it be tested since it involves medically critical procedures.

I tried to find independent confirmation. I will admit that my Google-Fu may not be the best, I figured a claim of this magnitude should at least show up even to my lowly skills.

I did find confirmation that both of the doctors, Robert Pozos, and Larry Wittmers, are or were affiliated with the U of M Hypothermia lab. However I could find nothing other then the article from the OP that linked either of the doctors or the lab with any scientific study of Mr. Hof

Seems pretty flimsy.

I saw the show about him on Discovery or NatGeo (can't remember which) where he ran the half marathon in Lappland barefoot. They did show the lab testing he underwent before the race, and the specialist in hypothermia appeared genuinely shocked at the results. He has a number of Guiness world records dealing with withstanding cold.
