View Full Version : Pat Kelly's TEN NOBLE TRUTHS

Pat Kelly
26th October 2003, 07:06 AM
1 – There are no gods, ghosts, spirits, souls or any other form of divine/supernatural entity responsible for or involved in the human race.

2 – Human life, like all other known forms of life is temporary and ends in death. Once death occurs, all aspects of life ends and nothing continues from the perspective of the conscious entity that died.

3 – Humanity shares the cosmos with countless other life forms.

4 – Humanity is predisposed to choose irrational beliefs over logic when social influences and emotional pressures reward the acceptance of irrational beliefs.

5 - Many currently accepted values and social norms are out of sync with reality and will be viewed by future generations in much the same light as we now look back upon burning witches at the stake.

6 – Those who oppose change almost always do so out of fear and ignorance and though they frequently claim the moral high-ground they are actually society’s piranha, feeding upon human ignorance.

7 – Exposure to our new communications medias over time has desensitized us to violence and warped our image of ourselves and the real world into a world of sensationalized extremes.

8 – Generations of children have suffered irreparable psychological damage on a global scale as newly passed laws attempt to rob children of their sexuality through a misguided notion of protecting the young from sex.

9 – Excluding disease and social stigma, human sexual interactions that are experienced as pleasurable are psychologically harmless regardless of age, sexual orientation or partner differences. Homophobia is well on the way to being irradiated by rationalism and the recent onslaught of pedophobia will eventually follow the same course.

10 - Humanity is currently engaged in a cultural evolution of unparalleled scope brought about by new advances in global communications that will likely result in the end of religion, large advances in sexual and personal freedoms, increased diversity at societal and personal levels and other changes that will mark humanity’s passage away from its long dark history of ignorance.

Darn it LK!! You beat me to it.

I'm putting the odds that PK isn't at least affiliated in some way with GP at 2500-1.

So where is your evidence for truths 2 and 3 then? Or any of the others for that matter?

Are you a fool?

There is evidence that you are at least trying to be GP. The pictures of children in sexual context, your obsession with paedophilia, and your posting style.

I argued with Genghis Pwn in only one thread on the science board.

He essentially said that Jared Diamond's book _Guns, Germs, and Steel_ had a political agenda while Charles Murray's and Richard Herrnstein's _The Bell Curve_ was a paragon of social science.

Not exactly "logical."

If not, what a stellar performance! There should be an award for such performances. I would nominate Elmer Gantry.

I have had the idea that may flower is really Ghengis pretending to be Hellcat.

How's that for a angle?

I think Ghengis should get some sort of award for his excellent portrayal of a man with an attraction to pubescent girls and a subconscious desire to confess his fetish in public.

His original idea was turned masterfully into a great thread, hosted by Amateur Scientist, dealing with teenage sexuality and surrounding issues.

It does work but requires a little digitial jiggling. Just click on the site, highlight the URL, and press enter.

Or:

I'm not too concerned because it's not very good. I'll record it again after I recover from my nearly lethal cold.

Provide evidence for that please.

3 – Humanity shares the cosmos with countless other life forms.

Provide evidence for that please.

If there is more communication, more personal freedom, and increased diversity, that will like increase religion, not decrease it.

This statement is absurd. America has the most freedom, diversity and communication of any place on earth, yet religion has been in steady decline here for decades, my friend.

Why did you evade the questions I asked?

I'll post them again for your convenience.

3 – Humanity shares the cosmos with countless other life forms.

Provide evidence for that please. ie. that evidence that there is life outside of Earth.

Can you also please provide evidence that religion has been in steady decline for decades?

Pat Kelly -
This statement is absurd. America has the most freedom, diversity and communication of any place on earth, yet religion has been in steady decline here for decades, my friend.

Those speculating on the identity of Pat Kelly are all wrong. From this quote it is obvious that he is Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf,¹ Iraqi Minister of Information (currently on administrative leave).

There are many European countries that have more freedom and diversity than the U.S.A.

60% of U.S. adults said that it was acceptable to post the Ten Commandments in government offices. (reported in "Survey: Majority of Americans OK With Ten Commandments, Pledge in Public," Religion News Service, 2003-AUG-5)

The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life released a poll conducted during 2001-NOV that showed: Of those surveyed, 78% felt that the influence of religion in the United States was growing which was a significant increase over a similar Pew poll in 2001-MAR, when only 37% of those questioned had felt that way. (note pre- and post-September 11th dates.)

The Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan determined in its 1995-1997 survey: The United States has a higher level of church attendance than any other country which is "at a comparable level of development" and 53% of Americans consider religion to be very important in their lives. This compares with 16% in Britain, 14% in France and 13% in Germany.

________
1 - Known for such gems as: "I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad." and "They're not even [within] 100 miles [of Baghdad]. They are not in any place. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion ... they are trying to sell to the others an illusion."

Whoops! Careful! He didn't say those life forms were outside of Earth.

He said:
"Humanity shares the cosmos with countless other life forms."

If you think about it, it's trivially true!* :D

Actually, I would guess the scripts that Geocities uses are shoddy. It appears that it is attempting to track the page where the "hit" occurred, but for some reason is unable to link the hit from the Randi.org boards.

When you click the link, a new window opens up. The window opens up to the Geos**tties "page is not available" page. If you just go up to address bar of your browser window, and press the enter key, the link will work (The reason being is because Geocities reads it as a "direct hit").

By the way, I just noticed your new avatar and I LOVE IT! :)

You're right... I might have jumped the gun there... I've changed my sig now. But if AP's sock puppet turns out to be a sockpuppet, he can bet his beak that he'll be in for a Salem spit-roast!

Edit to add: And for all you pedantic tossers out there waiting to say, "The witches in Salem were mostly hanged," don't bother. You sad gits.
