I dared to look for "seller's other items" and found this painting (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=552&item=3634426588) which, IMHO, at 91 GBP is "a steal".

From the sales pitch of this item: "If you wish, Uri will send a Polaroid photograph of himself with your drawing. This will also prove the authenticity of the creation". Good grief, to claim to have met Warhol and Dali, he surely has some manners to learn!

Sheesh!

Wow, Uri and buddy are aiming for the wealthier believers with this one. That starting bid is something else. The sad thing is that someone will probably bid on it.

£2,000 eh?

What if we could find 200 sceptics prepared to donate £10 each, then we could send someone like, oh I don't know... De_Bunk?
:D :D
(Mind you - he'd have to promise not to spend the money on JD.)

This is a very special auction of which Uri will donate part of the proceedings to charity
What charity? What's its name? How much will he donate? Is it HIS tax deduction, then? Does it have the name Uri Gellar as part of the charity?
He was studied by scientists who worked with Albert Einstein and the world's most prestigious scientific magazine, Nature, published a paper on Uri's work at the Stanford Research Institute in the U.S.A - a unique endorsement, and an irrefutable proof that his powers are genuine.

Um, he was studied by scientists... wasn't he found wanting? Nature is not the world's most prestigious scientific magazine, IMO, and no it's not proof he's genuine. They just published a paper on his work. Big freakin' deal.

Okay, the big question I have, and it's fairly obvious: would you rather go see Uri Gellar for lunch, or would you rather see Penn and Teller at the Slammer?

No contest. Go to the Slammer!

That text is crafted very carefully to make you think its grandiose - I would bid that Geller wrote that himself.

I was really considering spending an afternoon watching the guard feed the crows...

If we can arrange for a poll to send De_Bunk, I may be in!

It is very sad to see that Uri owns such a huge and expensive home, only because he didn't honestly earn the money for it.

"Uri Geller has designed the logo of the most successful ever boy band in the world, N*SYNC"

Okay, that's a really weird bit of trivia.

Geller neglects to mention that the paper was publsihed witha long editorial explaining a host of problems with the paper. The only reason they published it was to show just how awful the world of parapsychology papers was. (there had been some pressure about it)

Geller passed a handful of tests by incompetent scientists at SRI. He failed even more tests that were run by competent scientists at SRI.

Unfortnately (since some time in the early 90's by my reckoning) Nature has become considered the most prestigious scientific magazine. If I was to have a paper published in Nature it would serve me better career wise than having one published in Physical Review Letters - which is the most prestigous physics journal. Its somewhat of a travesty...

Of course I agree this says nothing re Uri's authenticity!

This is really funny. It looks like it was posted in "retaliation" for the Slammer Tour. What a pathetic loser.

Does De_Bunk live somewhere near Berkshire? I think passing the hat to win this would be co cool but don't forget you've got to come up with travel and accommodation costs, too.

I wonder... what does one wear to a luncheon with Uri?

AHHH! My eyes! My eyes!

Warn someone next time you post a Uri Gellar pic like that, would ya Blondin?

:p

Actually, I had been thinking at work that it was like a retaliation against the Slammer auction, or even against TAM2. Sort of like Ha ha You only have $1000+ bid to tour the slammer but someone will make a greater minimum bid to see crusty old Gellar in person! (Nevermind there are 12 Slammer auctions total.)

If noone bids Uri will give the money to one of his buddies to bid. He's an old hand at deception...

You need to wear a bib, all the utensils fall apart.

IN a couple of interviews he has stated he has been trying to sell his expensive home but the market just plains sucks for selling expensive homes. He claims its because he wants a simpler life in a cottage, but I wonder if he's a tad hard up for cash after all of his litigation-happy tactics in the 90's.

Auctions like this, and his other mediocre ventures say to me that he's not exactly rolling in dough these days.

You would assume a few parlor tricks by Geller so the best person to go would be Mr Randi himself.

Geller has be caught red handed on multiple occasions actually cheating QED.

Still I find Geller quite entertaining on the telly so it's not all bad i suppose. Dunno why?... I just find the guy amusing.

Hehhe. I can imagine eating lunch with Geller. I'd say "if you even try to bend one spoon, I'm gonna kick your ass". Oh, I'd probably kick his ass anyway, just because I don't like criminals like him.

Have you seen this person's selling history? That is some of the most blatant shill bidding I have ever seen. There are only two unique bidders that have won Uri's... whathaveyou... all of his auctions have gone for the minimum bid! There were ten consecutive auctions for Uri's "art" won by the same single-feedback bidder! The other bidders are also low-feedback, consecutive, minimum bid winners.

Shill bidding is a serious Bozo No-No on e-bay, and I'd report this to the e-bay police, but, since no one seems to be falling for Uri's latest pathetic attempt to once again dupe the public, it's technically not a case of shill bidding... it's more like a lame attempt to save face.

Just when you think this clown can't sink any lower...

Someone just bid on it. Minimum. Could very well be a shill.

Somebody done scammed the scammer:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2959569637&category=324

Complaint : A false bidder who had no intention of paying emails bounced no response.

Ain't that a crying shame?

Hmm, just checked all the other items that lorac_uk had up for auction. Seems that this guy (http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=centroderek) is an extremely interested fan.

I smell a rat.

I smell a rather worn, and frayed sock puppet.
