It seems to me that the word "God", used in conjunction with anything you wish, imbues that idea/object/activity with a "holy" aura. If you will, a pre-loaded verbal prejudice that sanctifies whatever it's attached to. So for my own amusement I simply change the "d" in any reference to "God" to a "g". It gives it a nice ring... try it. "Gog the Father, Gog the Son, Gog the Holy Ghost... in the name of Gog", etc. Cheers.

Welcome tooki. I have found that some have turned the word around, ie "my belief in dog". It has the same effect.

And it's a gogsend for the dyslexic*. No more embarassing, "Dog Dammit!" or "In the name of Dog I shrive you." Gog is a nice, pleasing palindrome. It also has a nice Bibblical ring to it.
* Yes, I know that dyslexia is a problem in phonological processing, not a visual one.

All due respect to your beloved general; but confer supreme executive privilege to a guy who, by all accounts, got his ass handed to him by a dude in blue tights? Please!

"Ed" carries too much religious baggage nowadays. It should be "De" or "Eg".
(Now that I got that out of my system, I agree with and endorse your OP, tooki.:))

"God" is not Yahweh's name. Capitalizing it just adds some kind of respect (unearned, if you ask me.) Simiilar to capitalizing the H in he, as in, "And then He rested."
Also, "Allah" means "The god", so similarly also is not Yahweh's name.
And we all know magic rules let you gain some kind of power over someone or some being if you only know its true name. So be careful slinging around the word "Yahweh". It would be unseemly to make Yahweh dance like it's a voodoo doll poked with a pin.
