Man, I remember when we'd head out on Beggar's Night. Forget these wimpy little bags, we'd run around with pillowcases full of stuff, and half the time we'd come home to unload before making the pass on the other side of Stewart Street.

Any more, though...[sigh]...

Halloween is Friday, October 31. The local paper lists Beggar's Night for communities large and small in what seems to be a good 25-30 mile radius around Dayton. Only seven are having BN on the 31th. 58 of them have it Thursday or Saturday. Two of them had it last weekend!

This bites. I was gonna put my telescope out on the front walk and let 'em look at the Moon and Mars while they noshed on candy corn. Now, though, I'm working that night.

As I said, this bites.

The powers-that-be can drain the fun out of something faster than the undead can suck up a pint of A-positive...

That's not the sort of thing someone from dayton would probably say....... I know dayton. You're not from dayton. Don't you tell me that, I know better.
