It's "the voice of the people" Prescott auditioning for his reality show appearances with "just flown in - Sylvia Browne!"

Beat that, Sarah Palin!

It can also be a pejorative revision of the word "laughs". As in: "They're 'avin' a laff!".

Sylvia Brown is a professional psychic--emphasis on the money, although she represents her organization as a "church". Following is a link to her site. Link (http://www.sylvia.org/home/index.cfm). Judge for yourself why she is regarded the way she is among many people in these fora.

"Laffs" is a slang expression for "laughs". Wiktionary link. (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/laff)
