Skeptic

I would like to smack both the conservative and the liberal commentators in the MSM, and many folks in this forum, around a bit.
Gee, so it seems that the democratic candidate is winning the elections. OK. What do we get? Hysterical "the end of conservatism!" rants from columnists who support McCain, and disgusting gloating (in advance, too...) from liberals.
Of course, four and eight years ago, the exact opposite was the case: conservatives gloated disgustingly, liberals were depressed and hysterical and spoke about "the end of liberalism", the new "theocracy" that's coming, blah blah blah.
The mark of a man is generosity in victory, and steadfastiness in defeat. And we're talking here about a REAL war, not an election campaign. What do we get here? Gloating in victory, and hysterical depression in defeat. We-defeated-Darth-Vader vs. It's-the-end-of-the-world.
Bleeeeeeeeeeeeech.
Really, folks -- you know who you are, both on this forum and in the mainstream media -- aren't you ashamed of yourselves?
Somehow, I cannot imagine Churchill, for example -- who had his share of both electoral victories and defeats -- reacting *remotely* similarly, in either case, at least not in public. And *he* suffered from clinical depression much of his life, or so I'm told.
Sorry. Had to get that out of my system. I feel better now.
