Has anyone actually seen this:
http://www.worldproutassembly.org/archives/2008/09/general_leonid.html
I would think that it would be all around YouTube et al... but I find nothing except the news release. Unless I can find an actual "debate" I remain skeptical that it even took place.
Anyone?

I believe it was discussed on this forum in a previous thread and the debate with English subtitles is on YouTube here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TFrNFOZd78).

We are talking about a country where the new chronology thing has a fair degree of acceptance. And 9/11 debate would not be that odd by comparision.

It did raise anything of interest that I saw; only featured truthers and no cosmonaut.
Transcript anywhere?

Huh.
That loon Tarpley says:
The host for the debate stressed that this landmark telecast did not imply that the Kremlin administration of President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin was officially espousing any particular point of view concerning 9/11, but rather reflected a commitment to free and open debate. Nevertheless, observers in the Russian capital sense a far-reaching change of mood by the Russian government [...]
Not a good source, but I wouldn't be surprised. Ivashov seems pretty conident there, in the video, and actually is trying hard to make sense. (IMO, the grup he's referring to is the PNAC).
I'd be curious who exactly hosted it, who spoke, etc... it says on prime time, I guess nationwide TV... a 'need' for debate... I think this cannot be aired like that unless Medvedev and Putin agree to it at any rate. Very interesting.
Sound sick? Well check John McCain raising similar questions and concerns about that nutso theory that Putin - er, "the FSB" - was involved in blowing up those apartment buildings in 9/99. "credible allegations that Russia's FSB had a hand in carrying out these attacks" http://www.friendsofmccain.com/news/dspnews.cfm?id=81
The woo knows no bounds! ;)
Anyway, McCain's actually got a good case. Ivashov has what exactly? I dunno actually. Meyssan's a fruit. Perhaps they should talk with CIT, or Nico. TV Fakery should do a great job, if you could use state media to cow your citizens into believing it and opposing the zionist regime in NY, or whatever, damn, Stalin would have to rise up and give you a pat on the back.
Interesting issue, I understand the real tensions and suspicions both ways, and wondering who would want to drag into cartoon land.

Of course the New Chronology has a lot of acceptence in RUssia because it "proves" that Russia is a main source of CIvilization. It also ties into the whole Catholic versus Eastern Orthodox routine.
Someone once said that Russia's problem is it suffers from a massive inferority complex and tries to over compensate. I think there is a grain of truth in that.
