LINCOLN, Nebraska (AP) -- A judge has thrown out a Nebraska state legislator's lawsuit against God, saying the Almighty wasn't properly served because of his unlisted home address.
I thought He lived at the North Pole with The Clauses?

My address isn't hard to find. I think it's actually a jurisdiction problem.

Why do I get the feeling that this is a case of "We need a loophole! Any loophole!"?

What ever happened to trial in absentia?

From the article:
Chambers, who has served a record 38 years in the Nebraska Legislature, is not returning next year because of term limits. He skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians.
A, Why is that relevant and newsworthy?
B, Why the **** are there prayers during a ***ing legislative session?

I suggested that several years ago. Why wouldn't that work? OTOH, god is omnipresent so why the requirement of a fixed address???

Can't we just send notice to the local church, read "House of God?." Or turn over a stone and find him there, as it says in the gospel of Thomas? Or subpoena the Pope, or at least try?

Have you ever seen Bruce Almighty? God has a lot of other more important stuff to do. This obviously creates an undue burden on God.

Who would be god's defense attorney anyway? He would have to resurrect Johnnie Cochran if he were to have any chance at all...

I think we should consider ourselves lucky that God didn't get served. Can you imagine how pissed he'd be, and what he'd do?
Just thumb through the OT, and see some of the ol' fashioned smitings he dishes out.
Yeah, let's not piss the big guy off, okay? I gots enough troubles.

I'd just like to point out here that cannotthinkofaname uses the word "mate" far to much to be a genuine Australian.

All one has to do is send notice to one who claim to be representatives of God on Earth. Either they admit that they do not actually represent God or they admit they are responsible for whatever He does. It's a win-win and it happened before (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268437/). :)
An unlisted adress can't be grounds for dismissing the case. What part of "everywhere" does this judge not understand? Also, God's official postal adress is:
23, Leinster Gardens
Paddington, London
W2 3AN
United Kingdom

"...and representing God also known as Jehovah, also known as El Shaddai, also known as "I yam what I yam" ...is Zombie Cochran!"
Man, I would so tune in for that.

They should have requested substituted service.
If God could not be served personally, he could be served by notice in a major metropolitan newspaper or publication of general distribution in an area covering where he resides.
As I have it on good authority he resides in my heart. Therefore, they could pick the Trib. Or possibly, Playboy. It isn't a paper, but it is closer to my heart.

Yeah, well, good luck finding an attorney in heaven.
