So the final debate is concluded. We know who you are going to vote for, but who do you think the American people as a whole will vote for (It may help to consider polls, the opinion of your friends and family, or the opinion of various media pundits)?

People should also check out prediction markets, as well. Just an fyi.

If John McCain wins I will dance naked on a beach in December.

Well, you didn't say where, so that leaves some wiggle room to make it bearable if it happens ;)

Ron Paul.

At this point, I think the more relevant question is: Will Barack Obama be re-elected in 2012?

Depends on McCain being the Rep. Nominee again. ;)

I think the writing's on the wall. Unfortunately, my vote won't make much difference either way in the Presidential race, as I live in a solid red state.

I'm surprised. Even though it looks fairly obvious, I'm surprised that everyone here on the board (who has voted) agrees on it.

Well I killed my initial post. Was going to spit in the soup by noting that over-confidence could get us into trouble.

Then I realized the supposedly, potentially devastating Bradley Effect scare has been helping make those who believe it will have such a large impact on Obama, do more to make an Obama presidency possible. :D

BTW, Obama just cautioned his supporters against being too cocky and getting lazy. Probably good advice. Many a baseball game has been lost because the winning team got careless and lazy and blew it in the ninth.

D,

Ironically, I just edited my little mini-lecture above. But the point remains: On the one hand, it's no fun being a kill-joy (it's nice to savor the fact that your candidate is sliding ahead). On the other hand, it's necessary on some level. There is value in the anxiety of the uncertainty that there will be a win. Anything can happen in the next few weeks, right?

Better to be ahead of the game because you are concerned that, while probability seems to be on your side, certainty is not (yet).

Obama; now the US will fall into a pit of socialism; socialized medicine, less wars in Iraq, and easier access to higher education for lower class individuals. 'BOUT *********** TIME!!!!

I still haven't received my instructions from our fascist, corporate, war-mongering masters. Has anyone else gotten theirs?

Of course I'm in NY, which is so blue that the glare is painful. Probably said masters won't bother with me, but will go straight to cancelling the elections and declaring a coup d'etat, right, TLB?

My wife has already voted for Obama. (She's traveling on election day.) So neener, neener, neener.

That's some of the maturity that the Democrats are practically legendary for. Well done.

Here's a little wisdom for you; advice that will help you age better:

Try not to take everything and everyone so seriously.

Unless you're a born-again Republican losing an election to satan. :)

Obama can only lose the election, McCain can not win. The bigger question is will the Dems get the magic number 60 in the Senate.

This is bullcrap. I voted for McCain and it was tallied as an Obama vote (seriously). Democrats are even stealing votes on this forum!

OK, I just tested it and it worked, you got me if it was a joke.

Speaking of prediction markets:

The people over at FiveThirtyEight.com (http://www.fivethirtyeight.com) put the probability of the Dems cracking the filibuster limit at 30%. That doesn't sound like much, until you realize that two weeks ago it was at only 15%.

That's pretty odd, I can see that both of you voted as you state, and yet the thread only shows one vote for McCain. (Yes, people with admin privilege can see who voted in anonymous polls. No, we (well I at least) don't bother unless someone complains.)

Of course, I voted for Obama, so that might explain it. :D

I call JREF-election fraud. Geesh, don't we have some Technical Moderators in here or what? :D Let's just blame Lisa. :)

Well, I was the one vote for McCain, as a test, so it really should be zero.
