I'm not sure it is better but one time in my life I was active in a local Sierra Club group and some of the group officers thought the mayor of the city (of 350,000) was trying to manipulate the elections for the officers of the group because we had taken a position against one of his pet projects.

If you are unaware of Sierra Club bureaucracy, there is the national organization, then their are chapters often made up of a state and then groups within the state to comprise the chapter usually organized around major cities.

Two Doctor Who CTs: 1)The BBC never destroyed all the old black-and-white episodes from the 1960's that it said it did, and instead keeps them in a secret underground vault.
