This doesn't need to be a big thread but just a morning smile for my fellow debunkers out there. On another board WTC7 has come up - again - and after finally demonstrating that yes indeed, there was damage to WTC 7 and it was not "undamaged" prior to collapse as alleged in the more fact-free Truther analyses, we moved to motive.
I wrote:
And there are larger questions. What possible motive would the conspirators have for bringing down an empty building? The other two towers were already felled, WTC 7 could have stayed standing I don't see how that would impact their supposed conspiracy in any negative way or not.
Oh, you might say, the CIA have offices there!
Well if the destruction of interrogation tapes of terror suspects is any indication, the CIA has no qualms in destroying evidence of their wrongdoing - and they destroyed those tapes without designing a crazy elabourate conspiracy to bring down the building wherever those tapes are stored.
They just destroyed them straight up - probably burned in a trash can or some such thing. And this was the reply:
There are occult reasons for the 3 buildings being destroyed - but I have no desire to get into that round here.Occult?? Geez... when they're that far down the rabbit-hole there really is no hope. Like, could I ever convince him of anything??
Highly unlikely..;) Looks like someone's been reading a bit too much about the infamous, satanic "Bohemian Grove"....

3 Buildings. I'll be damned, what about WTC 3, 4, 5, and 6?

It is the trinity...you see...the devil worshippers that are the illuminati DEMAND that the holy trinity be destroyed. Hence, the symbolism within the 9/11 attacks was that THREE buildings be taken down.

Not a howler at all. "Occult" literally means "hidden". Secret, hidden reasons for doing something is a perfectly mainstream concept.

No, I can guarantee the dude was referring to some hidden masonic symbolism. He's deep into that stuff, going on about the "Jesuits" and the like from time to time..;)

He's back with more! I guess maybe I made a booboo by arguing that a lot of the things alleged to be done by the masons are done in non-masonic-influenced parts of the world, like SE asia (in terms of greed and power lust, etc). I guess I made a "mistake" since I haven't bothered to truck through an anti-masonic tome yet by alleging that europe's class system pre-dated the masons, here is his reply:
actually the Masonic tradition can be traced back to egypt - and even ancient babylon - they where the mystery schools - and they far outdate Europe - let alone Europe's class system.
As for the occult connection between 3 buildings -it has nothing to do with the pyramid and eye - but I am not even going to get into it - it would be a lost cause.
If you want you could study the first degree tracing board of the Mason's - but that is all I am going to give you.I guess my history needs a good re-jigging! lol ;)

Indeed the origin of the word means "hidden", an occult blood test is one that looks for blood in one's feces, in other words 'hidden' blood, a sign of a colon malady.
As pointed out above though, the TM's usage of the word refers to the 'hidden knowledge', mystical knowlege, which is the more common modern connotion.
The TM is quite adept at invoking magic to 'explain' such things as motive to commit mass murder.
Another aspect of invoking something akin to magic is the contentions of faked aircraft into the towers, or beam weapons of unkwown type.
What difference is there between a mysterious beam weapon and a magic wand?
It turns Arthur C. Clarks's statement "A sufficiently advanced technology is indistinquishable from magic" (from my memory, it may not be verbatim), on its head. The TM assumes that TPTB have technology that is so advanced that to the general public it would be akin to magic. Many of them are primed to believe this due to a prior belief in mysticism. It is hardly a leap to go from a belief in comic book style occult forces being at work on Earth, to belief that secret government forces having a highly advanced technology.

Why would Masons want to destroy a building in the first place? Unless it was built by a rival secret world-controlling tiny-car driving sect. Who could that be? The Stonecutters perhaps?[/woo filter disengaged]
My, what a fabulous spot of drivel.
