She has a new novel out; Love.

She read the first chapter. It was stunning. There is an almost stream of consciousness style. Her use of language, as always, is poetic but grity. There were moments of sheer delight as she painted images of the shorelines, skies and emotions.

What a marvellous brilliant woman! She is beautiful and elegant and carries herself with such grace.

My favorite novels by her are: Beloved, Paradise and The Bluest Eye

Any other fans out there?

I've never been able to finish a Toni Morrison book, something which I find really annoying as the issues about which she writes are important ones - but I just find her extremely verbose style of writing detracts from the plot.

I understand that completely. For me, it is the use of language which is the enchantment much more than the plot. I remember images she paints in detail but not much plot, really.

Who do you enjoy reading?
