I just wanted to express my gratitude to all the people along the way who supported my journey into awareness.
Firstly Graham -
Thank you for being unmoving in your opinions and discussing things with me reasonably.
Thank you for listening to my idealistic ideas (some of which I still hold:P) and while disagreeing with me still respecting me.
Thank you for being who you are - clever, understanding, open and guiding all at the appropriate times.
(all done embarrasing Graham now)
Thank you to Richard Dawkins for writing the book 'Unweaving the Rainbow'.
While doing a course in biology I studied metamorphasis. It was unbelievable how disappointed and upset I was when the mystery was destroyed - I was nearly in tears.
For years I felt robbed - Just as I did when Graham explained to me the realities of the rainbow.
This book has come to me at a perfect moment in my life.
Already on my way to discovering the wonderful feelings that scientific investigation can bring, Richard laid things out brilliantly.
Being frustrated by thoughts of the universe and it's beginings was a common feeling for me - I felt such frustration at not knowing that I desired faith in something divine simply to take the weight off.
I never made it, never believed although I tried.
'Unweaving the rainbow' calmed my mind and at the same time encouraged me to think and investigate further.
I felt that if I admitted my sceptical nature to myself that I would be trapped. All mystery and beauty would fly away and I would be grounded and cold.
Ridiculous! By admitting that I was only a 'wannabe' WooWoo I found myself open to so much more discussion, thought and discovery.
It has taken years to come around to understanding for me... There are many things, places and people along the way who inadvertantly (or not so) helped me along and I am thankful for them.
Thanks as well to everyone here (yes, even the peckerheads) for bringing new ideas and situations to light for me everyday.
THANK YOU LONDON - GOODNIGHT!!!!
Toni
(I promise, this will never happen again)
