I was reading on the internet today that if scotch tape is peeled off in a vacuum it has xray qualities. I wonder if this could be demonstrated using easily obtained materials? My real question being could this be a highschool science project?

The answer to the last question is yes. The answer to the first question can be answered after the last question is completed.

"Xray properties" in what sense? Are you saying that when Scotch tape is peeled off the roll in a vacuum that it emits x-rays?
Where did you read this? Can you post the link?

Isn't that one of the reasons for having moderators -- that they will detect such things and merge threads as needed?

No. No more than paying a janitor is a license to litter.
