I wrote an article on my blog yesterday about spending a bit of time over the weekend with a hard-core conspiracy theory believer.
For some reason (I'm thinking brain fart?) it did not occur to me until jsut now, that this may be just the type of thing that some here on the JREF forums might enjoy reading.
So, if you're interested, feel free to check out my interaction with one of the few, the proud, the delusional, ... the conspiracy theorist!
Spending an hour with a right-wing, conspiracy theorist, nutjob (http://potomac9499.wordpress.com/2008/10/29/spending-an-hour-with-a-right-wing-conspiracy-theorist-nutjob/)
ps. My wife has already critiqued my spelling (and/or typing) in a few places, so if you're going to comment, I'd personally find critiquyes of the writting style, or content more productive. Thanks!

This does not appear to be a conspiracy theorist, more like a misinformed right-winger which you don't like because your a left-winger. Misinformed political idiots are on both side of the aisle. Most of it was just political ideology, only a few things were CT (which all have their counter-parts on the left-wing political nutjob end of the spectrum)

I'd say that Obama being a Muslim is a CT (at least when you get to the point that you're claiming the proof is coming out shortly)
The Clintons had people killed is a CT (hell, even Limbaugh doesn't claim this, and he'd have a week long orgasm if it was true)
5 nukes going offf in the US between now and March is a CT (and if he truely has the proof and does nothing to stop it, I would think would also qualify as criminal)
Yes he is a right-winger. And yes, I disagree with his politics in many cases.
But when you make claims like he did, I think that goes beyond political ideaology, and puts you squarly in the realm of conspiracy theory nutjob.
I may disagree with Rush and O'Rielly politically, but I don't consider either of them to be CT. This guy, was obviously more than just a typical right-winger...

Actually Rush did openly push the belief that the Clintons had Foster killed. It has been a long time since I was a Rush fan but back when I read his first two books, and listened to his talk show, he always talked about the people he believed that the Clintons were involved in killing. Which ever one died by suicide in his car in the park, Rush claimed he was murdered, and which ever one Bill sent over to the war zone in Yugoslavia and the plane crashed, was also murdered. Now that I bring these memories back, I see that Rush was very much engaged in CT ideas way back when. No wonder I had the seeds already planted when the sh*t hit the fan on 9/11. I am just glad that I no longer involve myself with anyone who falls for this crap.

Let's face it, the bulk of CTers are extremists on both sides of the political spectrum. Now which side contains more, that might be interesting to know.
