I agree 100% Not to mention without Lewis Black and Jon Stewart life would be less funny. But that has not a thing to do with Judaism any more than a discussion of how cool many or most christians has to do with christianity. I was talking about the religion, not the religious.

I actually think Judaism is one of the most poignant religions in history. The whole idea of a emotional struggle with God is very interesting, with a history of people holding their hands up in the air and yelling "WHY?????" It doesn't surprise me that Islam and Christianity are descended from it.

That's true, he did convert, didn't he?
I was being funny, but the Jewish contribution to the world songbook and music in general is huge. I shouldn't have made light of it.
In fact, a very famous commedian/singer, Eddie Cantor, started Sammy on his road to conversion.

You are all forgetting the #1 contribution of Jews to humanity: Jew jokes!
There are two kinds of Jew jokes - those that attack Jews (made by antisemitic idiots) and those made by the Jews themselves. The latter display a stunning mastery of black humor and self-irony, although some of them are a bit hard to get if you're not Jewish or lack a knowledge of Jewish culture.

That's pronounced klay-zmer -- literally, "instrument of song [or music]." The plural is klay-zmerim (lit. "instruments of song"), used when there's more than one person playing in the band (as you said, "sort of".)
This kind of music is quite popular in Israel -- and they say Jews are masochistic for some reason -- though more for emotional reasons ("that's the kind of music grandpa used to listen to!") than due to any objective musical standard, I am quite sure.
There's even a band of openly homosexual Israeli men which plays just this sort of traditional Jewish music in weddings, parties, etc. They call themselves...

Yeah, in a culture that traces its roots back 7000 to 10000 years, a mere four hundred or so is probably not sufficient to call it "traditionally Jewish".:spjimlad:
(Bagels are popular wherever there are large populations of Jews. No one knows who invented them or when, although there are all sorts of stories and urban legends about them. But they only arrived in North America about a hundred years ago.)

Obama’s next Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner is Jewish.
Timothy Geithner, selected by Barack Obama to be secretary of the treasury, is a Jew.
Geithner is now president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Geithner of Larchmont, N.Y. He is married to Carole M. Sonnenfeld and has two children. The Rev. Thomas Keehn, a United Church of Christ minister, officiated at his wedding.
All three men, Geithner, Lawrence Summers and Paul Volcker who had been under consideration by President-Elect Barack Obama for the Secretary of the Treasury post in his administration, are Jews.

Although I've never been quite sure how this logic works. Are people still part of the conspiracy even generations after their family converts?
