So it seems that something changed already - the President's Weekly
Radio Address is history, it will be aired on Youtube first nowadays.
This thread is meant to collect important announcements and to discuss
them.
So here's the first one from the president elect:

Great idea, especially because if you can't catch the radio address you can alsways find it on youtube later when you have time.
But I'm not sure if he should be doing this before he is sworn into office January 20th. On one hand there can only be one president at a time. On the other hand the issues are extremely serious and I can't blame him for wanting to start to get the ball rolling and to encourage Congress to start taking the steps he thinks is necc. to get the country back on track.
Thoughts?

It's also archived on the White House web site: http://www.whitehouse.gov/radio/

I also thought it's somewhat weird to do it while not being in office yet,
not to mention that using Youtube as medium reminded me to another
former presidential candidates way of addressing the crowds. On the
other Hand, I expected Obama do speak up concerning the Issues, rather
than sitting down and wait until Bush&Gang leaves the White House.

Is Ron Paul the new Godwin? He isn't my hero - nor is
Obama ... until he proofs to be a worthy "hero/idol".

Then why did you spend several months here rooting for him as the "hope for America"?

Because this way I could finally start the "Obama's weekly

It's somewhat inconsistent to guarantee free expression and then complain about what people use it for. Yes, I'm aware that he's not remotely required to allow it for YouTube videos, it would just send a nice message. I'd have liked it better if Obama followed the principle of being open to commentary, no matter how stupid much of it would be.

Something about these videos is funny to me. It's like he's practicing or playing, even though he won. He's in a fake Oval Office and everything.
Act like you've been in the end zone before, rookie!

I agree, it's somewhat surreal given the fact that he has no
superpowers yet. :p Not to mention that the amount of views
is declining rapidly from video to video....

Well, to be fair, its not the most efficient way to find out what he has to say.
I admit that I still watch it, but I can find out what he has to say on news.yahoo.com within a couple of seconds vs. 5 minutes on youtube.
