I think you need only remove the area around Washington DC and Crawford Texas on weekends. The majority of Americans (in my inductive experience) are intelligent, kind, and great people.

Without the US you'd all be slaves to China and Russia.

We could carry on like this ad nauseam. (In fact the nauseam is starting to set in already!)

Actually, without the French, America would still be a British colony. Nausea notwithstanding.

Without Europe there would be no colonies at all.

Without the land bridge, there would be no people here at all (give or take a few vikings).

(This is fun, but what was the point?)

Im talking abouut the present. If the US sank into the sea today, who would end up running things.. Im thinking China woudl make major moves.

Flanders and Swann, two British comedians, said in this way when they had a show on Broadway: "If it wasn't for the British, you'd all be Spanish!".

If it weren't for the Americans, Canadians., Mexicans, Latin Americans, South Americans, Africans, English, Irish, Scottish, Continental Europeans, Africans, Israelis, Arabs, Russians, Austrailians, Kiwis, Asians, Turks and assorted islanders we'd all be Welsh!!

Yikes!!

That's funny!

I have also recently noticed that the US somehow finds more reasons to go to war than any other country I can think of. In fact, since WWII we have really been on a tear. Korea, Vietnam, Panama and Iraq are some of the stranger ones that stand out.

Do you think it is a function of our powerful military? In other words, if we have so much power, we must use it? I wonder...

We're quite safe. We know you'll never take on anyone armed with anything other than the modern equivalent of a sharpened pineapple.

You're only safe because we allow you to live, out of respect for our mother land. You know us yanks, out to ruthlessly rule the world muahahahahha.

Now stick that "pinapple" up your arse and pull the detonator pin.

With the exception that TMY as usual misses the historical aspects, and the real answer would be "Germany and Japan", TMY has it right here, Jon.

Your blantant and inhumane anti-americanism, demonstrated above in which you just wished for my extermination (and that of 300 million other people) is making the situation worse, you know.

The jingoists from Texas love you. They take your intemperate wish for the extinction of 300 million people and blow it up, and use it as an excuse for their excesses.

You are to BLAME, dude. Live with that. I am sure you can, since talking about wiping out 300 million people is so easy for you.

There's a reason I call them "republiguns", you know, just like I call the other bunch "dummycrats".

I much prefer the term "repugnican". I haven't yet found a substitutional phrase for democrats that has both the right insult tone and sufficient linguistic charm for my tastes. "Dummycrat" is OK but not quite there.

Yes indeed. I assumed many here would get it. Mind you I couldn't make up my mind when composing the post whether it was mango or pineapple and plumped for pineapple. I will happily defer to your greater knowledge of the script.:)

To be serious for a minute, the US went into Korea and Vietnam to aid the French. That, at least, won't be happening any time soon.
