Thought I was looking at a cover to "guideposts" or something like that when I first saw it. Sad. Not too suprising though.

It's simple pandering. Reminds me a bit of the Yoga/Uma Thurman cover of Time from a few months back.

Umm, I'm sorry, but as the title claims, what is there to
"debate" over? Legimate scientific studies have shown prayer does not increase the recovery rate of a patient. Where is the problem?

If you believe in god, when you are sick, you will turn to him/she/it. Medicine should not make a value judgement on whether or not god exists, if the patient believes it, then you just cater to it. Just as you give them a choice of tea or coffee. They just feel more comfortable, and a comfortable patient is easier to deal with and more optimistic.
