It seems to me that in this day and time when the Jewish people feel threatened by such troublemakers as skinheads and the KKK etc that all they have to do is fight back. Once at little five points here in Atlanta GA the JDL made short work of these skinheads to the applause of the spectators both Jew and Gentile. Jews can and do take up arms in defence of their people and to me this is great.
However could there be another threat to the Jewish people? Could total acceptance and friendship also be a threat to judaism? Intermarriage and such? I have a friend who is jewish who hangs out exclusively with gentiles. Always the same people. Could the jews be killed with kindness?
Hopefully not.

1. Are "the Jewish People" some monolithic organization?
2. Did Hitler screw it up by simply not being nice enough?
*Flash to a moment in the bunker, 1945*
Ach, ve should haff ge-killing zem mit zee kindness, not mit zee gas chambers. Vat a schweinhund Himmler is being, I cannot believe vee have mucked this up. Zis goes beyond ein simple dumbkopf move, it iss das curtains for all ve haff been machen das arbeit. Eva, put zee rubber schwanzschtucker away and hand me zee Luger.
*sighs*
Not nice enough. Who vould haff thought? I am such a stupid, and not even so blonde.
*bang*
Yeah, sure it happened like that.
But to answer your question:
Whats the biggest threat to the Jewish people?
Failure to eat enough bacon.

Judaism, as a religion that is indistinguishable from a culture, seems to have been pretty successful at remaining distinct from whatever other culture or cultures it finds itself in contact with for a couple of thousand of years so it seems quite successful at surviving.

Could you repeat that again, in a properly recognized language?
"Fight back"? No! All that they have to do is to demonstrate that theirs is a culture that can survive.
The biggest threat to Jewish people is ignorance.

A lot of prominent members of Jewish communities DO fear assimilation.
I'm a Jew and the last time I told my Mother I was dating a shiksa (non-jewish woman) she saiid "Great, in another generation they'll be no more Jews! Great to finish what Hitler started!"
Judaism as a religion, being non-recruiting, is likely to die out, and as a cultural Jew who is an atheist, I don't mind it one bit. If only we could say the same for more religions.
As for cultural Judaism, like all cultures in that spread out, Italians, Irish etc, of course the culture is becoming watered down and assimilated more and more. The whole world is a melting pot and many cultures are quite protective against this (The Japanese, The French, French Canadians, Americans weary of immigration)
Judaism as a culture will probably become near meaningless outside Israel long before many of these, but it's been a long time coming.

Did they ever meet? How did that go?
