I was at the book store tonight and the nonfiction rack was full of this stuff. Tell your ghostwriters to put away their wordperfect and stop filling up my bookstore with your crapola!

They only write 'em if the people buy 'em!

Go on, Corplinx! Write a best-seller yourself!

Sometimes, Corps, you really do hit the nail on the head. This is one of them.

But if the only way people can be made aware of the truth is a humorous book like Al Franken's, then maybe thats that way it has to be.

Non fiction?!?? Sounds more like the POOP section of the bookstore!

This is why I just watch TV. It has the same crap as books but I know a show is crappy after 5 minutes instead of 5 chapters.

I'm currently reading "Cheese Primer"* but Steve Jenkins, if that gives you my opinion of your list.

*Yes, it's about cheese. Not some clever title.

Edit: Synonym insertion

Depends on your version of truth...and humor, I guess.

I don't find Al Franken, Michael Moore and their ilk any funnier, more insightful, more intelligent, etc. than the people they lampoon and pick on. None of it gets a second glance from me in the bookstore or on TV (especially Fox News--the worst!).

The sad thing is, there are so many of these books now that people like Franken can write other books criticizing their books. Each new book has a counter. Each book motivates another author to get their own last word in print. Its incest on the nonfiction rack.

Daschle has a new book out, too.

I know corplinx is jumping right on that one.

I'll reserve it along with Zel Miller's and Trent Lott's and put it on my shelf next to Hillary's, Howard Dean's, and Wesclark's.
