Wow. (http://greenvilleonline.com/news/2003/10/28/2003102817843.htm)
A silver Honda Civic crashed into a concrete median on Interstate 85 Tuesday after a state trooper on a motorcycle fired his weapon at — and struck — the car's two left tires during a high-speed pursuit, authorities said.
Lt. Ron Gahagan, spokesman for the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, said the trooper twice tried to pull the car over on charges of going 80 mph in a 60 mph zone when the driver first tried to run him over and then pointed a gun at him.
...
"As he got near the suspect vehicle, the suspect swerved and attempted to strike the motorcycle," Gahagan said. "The trooper backed off, got away from the vehicle and re-attempted to pull him over."
Gahagan said the trooper again pulled up to the side of the car and this time saw the suspect reach underneath the front seat. The suspect pulled out a silver firearm and pointed it at the trooper, he said.
He said the trooper again slowed down, backed away from the vehicle and then drew his .40-caliber Glock handgun. He fired twice, Gahagan said.
"Both rounds hit the target, both tires deflated," he said. "The Honda swerved a little bit. The driver lost control and hit the concrete median."
Even if the motor officer was left-handed, that's some nice aim! No small task from a moving vehicle, let alone a motorcycle.
