We Are Change, used to claim that they are a non-violent movement, dedicated to the spirit, strategy, and philosophies of Martin Luther King, Jr., Ghandi, and Nelson Mandela.
But now, they are hosting a solidarity protest in support of the violent anarchist/anti-Globalist protests taking place in Greece and other parts of Europe.
Why do they post a picture with a sign that says "Solidarity means Attack!"???
Now, of course I believe the senseless shooting of an unarmed Greek youth must be fully investigated and if a crime was committed, folks must be punished. But violence against violence..only begets more violence. Nothing good can come out of what is going on over there, as MLK and Ghandi would definately argue.
So why is W.A.C. supporting these events? Why do they show pictures advocating violence..and not just peaceful protest? Do they really want to take that next step?
I urge them not to.

well, if it was a real threat, then he should go to a real prison. why didn't Troy press charges?

I have no idea, you would have to ask Troy. Some of the stuff on his YouTube site is might be illegal depending on what state the people he crank called live in, so that might be part of it. Plus, I doubt he is actually scared of the idiots.

Because they haven't gotten any less crazy or stupid since the first time they ever compared their plight to that of MLK or Ghandi with straight faces?

well, lets see how their protest this weekend spells out. i hope they remain non-violent.
but even endorsing someone elses violence is bad enough.

I certainly hope they don't do anything as blatantly stupid as committing acts of violence against anyone for their "cause", but these are troofers we're talking about here; I don't expect much in the way of common sense from them.
If they're no longer content with hiding behind the 1st amendment and failed ideas and do move into the realm of subversive activities, then I wait with anticipation of them becoming the personal property of the inmates at whatever prison they wind up in. That's if they're lucky and don't fall victim to vigilante justice before the authorities arrive.

A member of We Are Change New York assaulted a girl (http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/2008/04/moron-wac-job-arrests.html) in a wheelchair.
A member of We Are Change Colorado murdered his father (http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/2008/11/wac-job-murders-own-father.html).
A member of We Are Change New York was sentenced to 20 years in prison (http://www.redcrayons.net/?p=46) for his involvement in the Ed and Elaine Brown standoff with the Feds over tax evasion charges. He was dubbed "the next Timothy McVeigh" by trial watchers.
A member of We Are Change Ireland was involved in the assault on a (http://eux.tv/article.aspx?articleId=20125) European Member of Parliament.
So whence comes the notion that We Are Change is non-violent? Because they say they are?

Pardon me for being picky but skinhead group is no way to describe any extreme organisation.
You could say nazi skinhead group or white supremist skinhead group but to just describe them as skinheads is an insult to real skinheads true to the original skinhead code.
I am a skinhead of over 30 years and I am not a racist or bigot or extreme in any political views.
Please see here for a history of skinheads

Maybe all skinheads you have encountered have been nazis but I know many guys through webboards etc from the US and Canada who are also not nazis.

Actually I hope WAC will do something stupid and potentially violent so that the entire group (including Alex "The Spider" Jones (http://911verses.com/underground/Over_the_Edge_2005-09-30_Alex_Spider_Jones.MP3)) is branded as dangerous criminals that will be mercifully hunted until they are either in prison or in a country with a non-extradidtion treaty with the US.

Forgive my ignorance. Technically I have been a skin (or near skin) head for the last 20 years as well. I had no idea that there were skinhead groups who were only a group due to their hair.
I assumed (wrongfully so) that you knew my comment was concerning the neo-nazi skinheads.

The original skinhead subculture wasn't racist. Hell, it included a lot of people of African descent. The skinhead movement was instrumental in the development of the blended ska/punk music of the time...as it brought together black reggae kids and white oi punkers in the UK some 20 or so years ago. It was if anything a symbol of the working class.
Neo-fascist groups, much like their predecessors suffer from a ridiculous lack of originality. So they co-opted the skinhead's appearance and namesake like their forebears co-opted the swastika in the late thirties.
Anyone who flashes a swastika now isn't even asked if he's using it in the context of its original intent as an Indo-European symbol of good fortune. It's assumed that he's throwing up a flag for a Neo-Nazi movement.
Likewise, anyone who proudly walks about with a shaved head and identifies himself as a "skinhead" is just assumed to be a Neo-Nazi bigot of some sort. That's why there's groups like the S.H.A.R.P.s, but unfortunately they have an uphill battle at best. Neo-Nazi activity in the U.S. over the last 30 years has almost indelibly linked "skinhead' with "racist."
