I'm not sure what to make of this particular video. Is it the typical 9/11 Troofer nonsense or not?

Of course it is BS. If there were bombs, the sound of them going off would have been recorded by every single video camera in the area and heard by literally millions of people. There is no way around this, which is why some idiots say it was thermite.
Explosions do not equal explosives.
ETA: Wrong forum. You might want to ask the mods to move it.
ETAA: I just want everybody to know that this thread was moved from the regular Conspiracy Theory section to here.

um...do you see a video of the explosion? do you see debris, smoke, bodies, etc?
this could have been the sound of a gas tank exploding. it could be the sound of a big piece of metal falling. there is no evidence of what this was...OTHER..then a big bang.
i saw this video years ago.

Yes, it is. There were no bombs at the WTC. I didn't watch all of it but it seemed to be focussing on initial news reports when confusion reigned.
Have a look at Gravy's website for more on this topic:
Did eyewitnesses report hearing or seeing bombs and demolitions explosives in and around the towers? (http://wtc7lies.googlepages.com/whattheyheard)

explosions were falsely reported as being "bombs". yet there is no evidence anyone ever found any unexploded devices, yet found any wreckage from an explosive device.
my dad once said "the wtc was bombed". he didn't mean it literally.

According to Richard Gage and my best friend, the 9/11-investigator, the WTC towers were destroyed using explosives because Dan Rather, an expert on controlled demolitions apparently, said they were on TV shortly after it happened.

Actually, there was a thread on this just recently.
This video seem to surface from time to time:

Just how many times is this piece of fake crap going to be brought up? I swear we should have a sticky for it: "THAT VIDEO IS FAKE"

Yes as of late we seem to be as prone to recycling this crap as the truthers.

I thought so.
But there is one particular statement that I'm wondering about -- in the video I remember hearing something to the effect of bombs being taken out of the building?
Did I mishear what was said?

IIRC, the building in question was not WTC 7, but Stuyvesant High School. Truthers, in their tireless quest for The TruthTM, edited it to make it appear they were talking about WTC 7.
Needless to say, it was a false alarm and no bombs were actually found.

I love when truthers take false reports and use them in their favor. I remember hearing that day that a car bomb went off in front of the capital building and as many as 12 airliners were hijacked.
Oh....and flight 93 landed safely in Cleveland.

Isn't the double bang a signature of the a sonic boom made by a a jet breaking the sound barrier? We did have Fighters over Manhattan on 9/11.
Fake or real, the explosions have nothing to do with man-made demolition of WTC1, 2, or 7.

If you're going to lie at least try and be more convincing.
"Okay firefighters, we want you to react as if you hear a bomb exploding nearby. We'll add the sound in post."
Too funny.

Funny, that "reaction" is at the exact same time a fireman shows up to tell them to get out of there!
I'll give you the same challenge I've given to all the other truthers touting this video: Care to produce the original video MM?
I have no doubt you won't be able to do so, no truther can. I bet you don't even know the original source, and have no desire to do so either.
Analysis of the recording indicates fake, but you could clear it all up by producing the original video and pwn us all!
Will you be doing so MM? Of course you won't, you're a truther and you just don't roll that way.

/Seems like you have the affirmative side of the issue, so the burden of proof falls on you. I will rebut it when you show it is real.

Unfortunately, the challenges will not be met, for as we know, if it cannot be found on the internets, then they will not be able to produce it. It is the investigooglist's code.

For new folks, or those who haven't ID'd the the video in the OP yet: That vid basically takes the clip discussed here:
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=75741
... and adds a new intro along with clips of the various initial news reports of explosions. Reports of explosions are dealt with here:
http://wtc7lies.googlepages.com/whattheyheard
... and here:
http://www.911myths.com/html/accounts_of_explosions.html
In short, they take one video where the "explosion" was actually a piece of large debris impacting the ground, and follow it with news reports of "explosions" to try to plant the notion that demolitions were used. As said, the start of the video was discussed in that 2007 forum thread, and the Gravy page and 911 Myths page discusses the rest.
In short: Same old same old.
