On the Jews and Their Lies quotes

"First, that their synagogues be burned down, and that all who are able toss in sulphur and pitch; it would be good if someone could also throw in somehellfire. That would demonstrate to God our serious resolve and be evidenceto all the world that it was in ignorance that we tolerated such houses, in which the Jews have reviled God, our dear Creator and Father, and his Son most shamefully up till now, but that we have now given them their due reward."
-Martin Luther
'On the Jews and their Lies'
Chapter 17-

This proves that the church have too much power. How many school books talk about Martin Luther being an anti-semite? By the way On the Jews and Their Lies was a bestseller and a very popular book in Nazi Germany.

...and?

This has been known for some time now. Centuries, even. So the chances are Martin Luther is dead now. But you should check just in case...

And it doesn't prove any such thing. If you have even glanced at a history book you would have seen that Martin Luther led a rebellion, a protest against the church of the day, i.e the Catholic Church. That's why it is called the PROTESTant church, which he founded.

And lots of other stuff was popular in Nazi Germany. Autobahn building, jet engines, tape-recorders, even rockets! So that must mean something...or not.

How many books talk about Martin Luther being an anti-semite? Many of them.

Just about any decent history textbook about the Reformation and the rise of Protestants tend to mention it...did you have an actual point?
