President-elect Barack Obama on Saturday named a Harvard physicist and a marine biologist to science posts, signaling a change from Bush administration policies on global warming that were criticized for putting politics over science.

Personally, I prefer just a bit of concern for man to balance the science in things like access to public lands.
The pure ecological point of view would be that man is not allowed to enter our public lands- he might leave a footprint!
All government functions are political- by definition! We'll have to wait and see how
Our Savior Obama balances science with politics.

So far, again, Obama gives all the important jobs to competent people... and the symbolic, unimportant stuff to the nutcases (e.g. Warren's invitation to the inaguration).
