The Prince of Wales has strenuously denied allegations which were due to be published in a national newspaper.

Details of the allegations cannot be published for legal reasons and Prince Charles issued a statement on Thursday night, saying "this allegation is untrue".
...
"In recent days, there have been media reports concerning an allegation that a former Royal Household employee witnessed an incident some years ago involving a senior member of the Royal Family.

"The speculation needs to be brought to an end.

"The allegation was that The Prince of Wales was involved in the incident.

"This allegation is untrue. The incident which the former employee claims to have witnessed did not take place."
...
Sir Michael continued: "I am absolutely and totally confident that the allegations are untrue. I have I have looked into it in some detail and am totally confident."

He would not be drawn on whether the allegation should be revealed.
How bizarre! The denial is made public, but apparently the allegations can't be.

Apparently, someone in the royal family was seen having carnal relations w/ a royal valet of the same sex.

I don't think it was Charles, his thing is old women w/ bad teeth. :p

I think it rather imprudent to be scattering allegations of this nature around.

All we know for sure is:

The Mail on Sunday was blocked from publishing a story about Michael Fawcett, a former aide to Prince Charles.

The Prince of Wales has denied allegations he was involved in an unspecified incident witnessed by a servant.

And there is no cannabalism in the Royal Navy. (Or was that homosexuality?)

Channel Four News here said "we think that it is scandalous that the www.republic.org.uk website is printing the very allegations that we're not allowed to mention. Nudge Nudge. Wink Wink."

Ok, they didn't actually say "nudge nudge wink wink".

Pre-emptive spin-doctoring?

(If you can read German, the allegations are here (http://www.gay.ch/family/charlesgay.html). Sheesh, those Brits... :D)
