Could we all make a diary note to keep Feb 13 and August 29th clear for the nashing of teeth and ringing of hands for the expected end of the world

Lets get right behind these predictions and give it to those 2012 Mayan Calendarites. :mad: We need to work together to make sure this is the decade of the end times and not the filthy teens

Well, I might as well go run up my Visa bill. By the time they get around to sending me to collections, the world will have bigger problems, like locusts, frogs, famine, pestilence, boils... you know, the usual.

On February 13, 2009, the Unix time number reaches 1234567890 seconds at 23:31:30 UTC (a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence). This day falls exactly seven years to the day of Ash Wednesday, February 13th, 2002.
That's just so stupid I don't know what to say...
And another...:
* Zeus' birthday is FEB-13.
* FEB-13 is a Friday the 13th.
* The time stamp in the Unix operating system is 1234567890 at 23:31:30 UTC on this day.
Unix time seems to be very important in deciding the end of the world.. Who knew?

I knew SCO (http://www.sco.com/) (Satanic Controlled Operating systems) was the work of the Devil!
And only a pawn of Satan could devise something as painful to work with as "Patchworks (http://h71000.www7.hp.com/pathworks/)"! ;)

So did the world end on Friday 13th? Everything looks the same in Perth, Western Australia. They must have moved me into an exact replica of the world. Yeah, that's it.

Friday 13th wasn't too good for the West Indies cricket board ...

Sorry to say, but a replica Perth would be two Perths too many.:D

That is OK. The real Perth no longer exists. Only the replica. And the rest of the world is a replica as well. The real world was destroyed to make way for some construction or other. Ref Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Skeeter Davis sang "the end of the world". It was a big hit, in 1963, I think.
anyway,
"It ended when you said goodbye"
Happy Valentine's day, lovers.

I've always found it amusing that 90% of end-of-the-world predictions are due to occur within the predictor's lifetime...and usually within the next several years.
You don't often see someone predicting the world will end on November 10th, 3147. That'd be the safe way to go. Who can debunk it?

I love the loony predictions on that page almost as much as some of the loonies on this forum. <3 :)

But that wouldn't sell nearly as many books. It's impossible to make any money off a prediction like that.

Isn't Perth already at the End of the World? What did you expect to be different?

Huh. If that was the end of the world as we know it, I feel fine. ;)

Now that the day has come and gone, I'm hearing nothing but crickets from the End-Of-Timers. ;)

It was a veritable shambles wasn't it? As an Aussie I was hoping for another demolition job on England before the Ashes. :D
