Okay JREF writers,

What do we want to do as a group, if anything, at TAM2?

Sound off. . .

Sadly, I will not be there.

First Chaos takes out the main power line into Las Vegas, I will have rewired all of the locks on the main vaults of the casinos so that when the emergency locks kick on, they will actually UNLOCK the vaults, the rest of you will be disguised as casino employees, you swoop in and take as much money as we can from the vaults. We escape in a garbage truck driven by Roadtoad.

Oh wait, that's the plot of "Oceans 11", the real one with The Rat Pack, not that phony one with Brad Pitt. My bad.

Actually It might be interesting to get together. I don't know where, though. Though I live in Nevada, I rarely go to Vegas and don't know the city better than anyone else. If we are all over 21, why don't we all meet at the bar at the Tuscany, and figure it out in person once we are there. ANyone have a good suggestion as to time?

First thing: I will attend TAM2.

Second thing: I am afraid I cannot take part in any casino robbery. I will have to keep a low profile after assisting a bank robbery of members of another BB I take part in. :D

So, well, what can we do...apart from meeting at the bar and getting disgustingly drunk?
It may be a bit late for an ad-hoc workshop on "woo-woo phenomena in skeptics´ stories" or such...

I get to Vegas 7:20pm Thursday, so I'll be settled at the Tuscanny by 8:30pm or so. A quick scan of the Amazing Meeting forum, and the schedule of events shows a lot going on every night, but Thursday night after some opening remarks by Randi might be our best bet to meet in the bar.

Aside from that, most of the conference events end around 5:30 every day with little breaks before Dinner with Randi, Penn & Teller, and other outings. I'm flexible though. I couldn't afford dinner with Randi. I've already seen Penn & Teller's show. So basically Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night are all good for me.

BTW, am I the only one who can be pursuaded to tell a story or read a poem or two after a few drinks?

Chani and I will be driving down on Thursday morning. I don't know what time we are going to leave here so I don't know what time we will get there, but even if we leave here much later than I expect, we'll definately be there by 8:30. We aren't going to the dinner with randi either but we are going to see Penn & Teller (I haven't yet seen a schedule so I don't know when anything is). So I am pretty sure that Thursday night is good for me, I am not yet sure about any other night.

I might be persuaded to have something to read. However it won't be poetry. THe only poems I have ever written were really demented haikus, my personal favorite involves decapitation. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I am a psycho freak or anything.:D

I would love to go, but unfortunately duty calls. This is a busy time at work and the slaves are not allowed to leave except to perform necessary bodily functions. Maybe the next time. Have fun!
