The Cottingley Fairies (http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&resnum=0&q=cottingley+fairies&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title) original photographs appeared on the BBC programme Antiques Roadshow today.:)

The owners, relatives of the two children discussed how they were fakes and that her grandmother was ashamed of the deception. They also have the camera given to the children by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Maybe with their family record we should be suspicious of the authenticity. :D

Amazingly, one of the less famous fuzzy photograph (http://www.hauntedamericatours.com/ghostphotos/fairy%20sunbath.jpg)s was still thought to be a real fairy.

The show should be available on the BBC iPlayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/) for download (It is the very last item on the show).

Maybe someone could grab the section and send it to Randi - I know he is very interested in the Cottingley Fairies.

I'm not sure how to do it.

Shame they didn't have any other photographs or the negatives.

Am I surprised? - No, not really.

The more recent story about refused planning permission because of a fairy rock (working from memory here - details fuzzy), was that Yorkshire too?

erm ... no, it was Perthshire (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article592514.ece).

North of Watford, though, so you weren't far wrong.

I thought Randi owned the negatives? He owns something - maybe some original plates or something. Perhaps not the negatives, I can't remember.

No need to lump everyone in the same group as the original sisters.

It was the original sisters I was thinking about.

Ah yes, I think that's what Randi bought.

ETA: everything else removed on account of massive brain fart today.
