I've searched for "Chalko" in the threads. No hits. So perhaps its time to meet Dr Tom Chalko (http://sci-e-research.com/index.html), one of the most genial scientists?
Check for yourself. Who would have figured that the Earth could explode due to a bit of global warming?
http://sci-e-research.com/geophysics.html
There used to be a scientific paper loaded with calculus to substantiate that claim but that has been returned to the author for revision :D (http://nujournal.net/core.pdf )
So, what is the skeptic verdict?

My answer-
Uh... what about other planets like say... Venus?
We are not the first "civilization" on Earth to be wiped out due to the lack of understanding of Nature. Are we to be the LAST one? Do notorious abusers of Nature deserve to exist?
And... HUH????
I can't believe this guy (http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/health_/thiao.htm) holds a real PhD in Physics.
Do I need to look at my shirt to achieve bioresonance?
Bio-electrography measurements seem to suggest, that the most significant, and the most effective is what we wear directly on our skin. Worn on the skin, bio-resonant clothing seems to provide a continuous "color acupuncture" to our body. Since "spectral mirrors" on bio-resonant fabric interact directly with our body, they work equally efficiently during the day, night, or even when people are blindfolded, which has been confirmed by bio-electrography.
Color acupuncture? WOO WOO

Oh dear.
Where to begin with this guy?
DangerousBeliefs has just beaten me to the single simplest point that can be made to refute his crazy, crazy theory. If the greenhouse effect were to cause plantes to explode then Venus would be in rather small pieces right now. Venus has a very similar internal structure (as far as we can tell) to Earth and a runaway greenhouse effect which puts the surface temperature way above the worst predictions for global warming on Earth.
The stuff about the core meltdown has so many holes I won't even begin. His arguments are a little vague since this is just a summary. To properly pull it to bits I'd need to see the full article.
And did anyone look at the neutron bomb warning?
http://sci-e-research.com/neutron_bomb.html
And I think this says something about his ideas:
"The proof: If intellect is unwilling or unable to understand the analysis - no proof is possible."
I did like the link on his site to "bioresonant clothing" though:
http://bioresonant.com/cgi-bin/start.cgi/start.html
Groovy!:D

Right, I was just introducing this person to show that "woo woo's" can be diguished as being very scientific.
There are a number of physical laws that our good doctor is over looking. Like me to elaborate?
BTW curious that you both mention Venus ::looking casually at fingernails :: Got that planet figured out completely. Care to "skept" it?

I'm almost positive we had a thread on this nutjob ages ago, but it seems to have fallen off the edge of the board.

DangerousBeliefs---But, but, but...Venus is not your everyday hot planet. Venus is ....HELL. Hell can't explode...we know that. Hell is used to being hot, you see. Earth isn't. Therefore, to say, "Seeeeee...Venus hasn't exploded...so why should Earth?"...is an irrelevant statement.

Hamish: ... And I think this says something about his ideas:
"The proof: If intellect is unwilling or unable to understand the analysis - no proof is possible."Sounds like a paraphrase (or corollary) of Stuart Chase, "For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't believe, no proof is possible."
This is a favorite sentiment in the New Age Community. I have had it tossed in my face often when I've asked some New Ager to justify a paranormal claim they made. That's when I know I'm dealing with someone whose epistemological toolbox does not include logic.
Edited to add: Sometimes I toss back "xouper's rebuttal to Chase", often to no avail:
"For those who don't believe, no disproof is necessary. For those who believe, no disproof is possible."

I have no idea what Chalkos motives are to invent stories like this but might, power and wealth may be included. How many people will be believing such a clear narration and are willing to contribute to the glory and well being of this clever man.
However, the exploding Earth fable has several flaws, visible even in this small abstract:
the solid core of our planet could never be smaller or lighter than a certain minimum, otherwise the core would not be able to remain in the center of the planet.
and
The most serious consequence of such a "meltdown" could be a gravity-buoyancy based segregation of unstable isotopes in the molten inner core. Such a segregation can "enrich" the nuclear fuel in the core to the point of creating conditions for a chain reaction and a gigantic atomic explosion.
are contradicting each other. In the centre of the Earth the gravity is zero and diffusion movements and thermodynamic movements are much more important. According to that, a smaller core could not maintain a central position in the Earth, but by the same token, heavy unstable isotopes can't form a segretation either. It will be diffused automatically.
So the verdict: baloney.
BTW Venus popped up again. Using the growing inner core hypothesis, I can explain why Venus is as it is today. I need skeptics attempting to debunk that. Worth another thread?
